My guess is that Arizona Coyotes might be in the running for the top pick now. They lost Vrbata and Riberio. They were already hurting on offense and then they let 2 of their better offensive players go. Plus a player like McDavid would probably ignite that fan base where they would be sold out more often. And who says the NHL can't fix the lottery system. Just something to think about. Hope it doesn't happen but I'm just wondering with all the players we picked up if we just took ourselves out of the race for 1. I know we will have lottery balls but I'm saying the best chance with the most balls like last year.

The way that the coyotes have lost offense could mean they are in the McDavid sweepstakes. Just sayin

So how close are we to the cap floor. Most of these moves these players will be gone in a couple of years when the youngsters are ready to step in fulltime.

we should still be a bottom 5-10 team plus with the nhl changing the lottery who really knows where and what pick you get!

I don't have any clue to who Murray has in mind any free agent that wants to win won't be coming to Buffalo. Buffalo has to have a pretty big list but I'm guessing the players list along with their agents list probably has buffalo close to the bottom. I just don't see Buffalo as an attractive destination for free agents this year. To me this is like year 1 of the rebuild process even though it started last year. You want to develop those young guys then keep them in Rochester and keep guys in juniors. This is going to be a couple of more years of this garbage on ice. You figure we should have a top 5 pick, the islanders pick will be in the teens and St Louis in the 20's. By the time u develop some of these guys it's a couple of more years. Murray really needs to find players that are too down on a teams depth list and grab them. Who he has in mind I have no idea. But to really back into the UFA's I just don't see any of the good ones coming here. And please no Stastny. Your right they would be a solid base to start from but I just don't see any of them coming here. I'm guessing the Islanders yes the Islanders are going to land a couple of free agents of quality before we do.

If they are motivated by money they will come here if not it's going to be a long couple of seasons and these players might feel why waste a year or two.

Just kidding In all honesty I high doubt any of the big name players come here and to be honest with you I don't want any of the UFA's. Nobody really stands out to me that will make an impact. What the Coyotes traded for Gagner was nothing. The only thing they inherited his salary . We need moves like that. Take on a player who might need a change of scenery and still has room to progress.

I'm just shocked they couldn't trade him. Come on we couldn't get some more picks for him. I could see buying Leino out but I thought Erhoff could have been moved.

I still think Murray unloads Stewart, Stafford, and possibly Erhoff at the deadline. Not all 3 but u never know!

In all honesty I love the Reinhart pick and what I seen of Lemiuex is he is going to be a player it's just about how high his ceiling will be. He could be just another Kaleta. Don't know much about all the others we selected just hoping our scouting staff knows those players better than the other 29 teams. To me Tampa and Anaheim are putting together a lot of talent.

I know this draft isn't the greatest but why not package up some picks for higher picks and go for quality over quantity especially since u couldn't move up in round 1. Package a second and a third or more for another second. My biggest question now is this teams scouting staff hurt by not being able to bring in 50-60 prospects into Buffalo for their own eval camp like they did for a couple of years. Lots of questions. My biggest now is how active is Buffalo going to be in free agency. To be honest with u I like Ott and Moulson but don't really want to see any of these top free agents come here.

So I'm sure there is disappointed fans here that Murray kept those seconds and didn't draft Barbashev. Looks like no Russians going to be drafted by Murray anytime soon. I'm just stunned that he and most other teams weren't able to pull off more player trades.

Alright Murray what do u have up your sleeve? This draft doesn't have anyone mind blowing in the second anyways.

This was the player I wanted since the beginning of the year. He was the best player on the ice in the prospects game.

I just don't see Lemieux ceiling being that high we need some skill players and I don't think we need another goalie.

I agree on your picks as I take Barbashev at 31 and I like what I hear about Dougherty game. Not so sure about picking another goalie. Lemieux probably won't amount much to more than a 3rd liner. I'm not so sure you take another goalie in the organization when u lack skilled offense players.
