  1. BPO in the park in a few weeks, I think.
  2. The Sabres don't need Tarasenko. They have the goal-scorers. A two-way forward would be nice; a goalie is more important.
  3. So I tried to go today. The number of cars VERY slowly circling Harborcenter about 15 minutes beforehand told me that the place was already full. So I didn't bother parking 5 blocks away just to be turned around at the door. But I'm betting it was pretty full.
  4. Reread what you wrote. If the Sabres don't spend, it's going into Terry's private jet (which doesn't exist). And you're praising foolish spending by Yzerman. So, using a simple formula, 1 + 1 = 2.
  5. I'd love it if Winnipeg would make this trade.
  6. I do hope you're right. (I also sometimes wonder how we can see holes in VO's game but we also think actual NHL GMs are going to pick him up at $4.75M.)
  7. Let's say they sign a G for $4M. They then trade UPL (837K) out for some mid-level pick. That's still 3.2M off of the 5.8. I'm not saying that they *can't* make a move, but they'd better be judicious about it. If they can get some team to take Bryson for futures, that would help a lot. Point is, I wouldn't get my hopes up about Bertuzzi, nor would I assume that if they don't spend right up to the cap by Sept. 1, that the surplus is going into Terry's private jet, as @PerreaultForeversuggested. They need to have some dry powder for the deadline or in case of a injury. (A cheaper player like Power going on LTIR isn't replaceable at a similar cost.)
  8. There's not a lot of room left. Cap is down to 5.8M and they still need that goalie. And they're going to want some cap room for the trade deadline.
  9. Yeah, and from what I'm seeing, Detroit fans aren't thrilled.
  10. By your logic, it's a great move if the Sabres don't get Pesce or Hellebyuck but instead blow $5M on Gibson or $7M on Toews. It doesn't matter if money is spent wisely, as long as it's spent, it seems. Some of Yzerman's moves yesterday were just plain stupid unless he's just trying to get to the cap floor (which isn't the case).
  11. Apparently there are 4 x 6.25 million reasons.
  12. You'd be screaming if Adams had done it and the entire board knows it.
  13. We know Jost fits this team and the coach. We know no such thing about Geekie. And I'm not ready to trust you if you think Yzerman is some sort of GM wizard.
  14. And then...Gostisbehere for 4.25M for a year. Yeah, he's a Real Man of Genius.
  15. Can he handle Lucic if necessary, is the question.
  16. I want Colorado to try to assign Drouin to the AHL just to see what happens.
  17. I actually deleted him because I don't think he was within the last ten. The Sabres certainly weren't seen as an abyss when they signed him.
  18. I think there's no such thing as a bad team tax when it comes to free agents. This team, as bad as it has been, has managed to sign "hot" free agents numerous times in the last ten years. There was no bigger name than Okposo on the FA market in 2016, for example, and Hall in 2020 was surpassed only by Pietrangelo. Gionta too--remember, he dared to snub Toronto to come here.
  19. I suppose a Grave is just a specialized Pit anyway. He won't win anything there.
  20. I just suspect that you're up to something.
  21. Well, it wasn't him this time, but there was a "send 'em back to [continent]" uttered, which enabled me to excuse myself early.
  22. Gonna need something stronger than beer for this one. It's the old racist uncle's house.
  23. You go sit in the corner with Flagg and that Nill guy.
