  1. I don't even think it's that bold. It's *right there* and all Adams has to do is stick his hand out and grab it.
  2. I was just listening to pre-draft coverage on WGR, and whoever it was who was talking (didn't get his name in my 15 minutes in the car) thinks that Adams sees 13OA, even by itself, as too heavy a price for Hellebyuck. I think that's crazy.
  3. I just don't see that such a mandate existed. And certainly not on the outgoing trade.
  4. I suspect that there's a lot of room between this and the truth. You don't have to respond; I won't see it.
  5. Mark this down for the trade deadline.
  6. The real difference is NJ got it right the first time and the Sabres didn't. So it's a second rebuild here, really.
  7. I listened to the appearance on the radio. You're right, it's mostly GM talk.
  8. As always? Are you here often? Often enough that you think I mistake the NHL for the NFL? Or are you here 30 times in the last 15 years as the stats indicate? If you don't want to be treated like a jerk, don't come at me like one.
  9. What you're saying is that it ultimately was Adams who *decided* to back up Kruger in this manner.
  10. Who signed him with that NTC? Himself? Krueger?
  11. I had no idea--I really thought it was the NFL. Huh. That's all the attention I'll give to a comment like this.
  12. I love how Hall is the villain here when Adams is the one who signed him and then traded him (with 50% retention) for a 2d round pick.
  13. We'll have enough to talk about in the next few days.
  14. That's gonna be like $405/person for just the tickets to the games. $5 for the Sabres preseason game.
  15. We're not in a vacuum. We're here and now.
  16. And here's where your idea of putting the draft behind the opening of the FA period comes in...if Adams could sign Graves now, he wouldn't have to hedge his bets on trading picks.
  17. I guess? I think your other sentence--the one I responded to--was missing some words.
  18. At the risk of being hyper-repetitive: I want 13OA used on someone who plays in Buffalo in 2023-24. If Adams is willing to sacrifice assets to get into the top 3-4 in the draft (i.e., a player who plays in 2023-24), he should be equally willing to sacrifice the same assets to get a 26-year-old defenseman or a veteran stud goalie.
  19. Yeah I listened to it and it scares me that THAT's what he's looking at with the assets he has.
  20. It would be an absolute dream to have a good vet (I'm talking Saros/Helly here, MAYBE a Hart type) and Levi in Buffalo and Comrie in Rochester, with some sort of D prospect return for UPL (or UPL included in the consideration for the incoming goalie). A dream. If Adams pulls that off, I immediately upgrade him from a marginal C to a solid B.
  21. If I were an NHL GM and I needed that "last piece" in February or March, I'd definitely be looking Wilson's way.
  22. I don't think he fills a need and I don't think he's going to sign a PTO. He'll land somewhere.
