Sabres Sale: An offer from the Hockey Gods
PromoTheRobot replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
I think they're are lots of markets that want the NHL. Houston is the #4 metro in the US and is as large as Toronto. You have Portland, OR that supports their WHL Winterhawks very well. Kansas City has reportedly expressed interest. Hartford is eager to get back in the show. Norfolk, VA is the largest US metro without a major league franchise. Could either Saskatoon or Regina support an NHL team? And then there's the GTA/Hamilton/London/Kitchner axis. You know they'd go bonkers for their own team. If NYC and LA have two or three teams, why not Toronto? EDIT: After thinking about this for a while, I realize the Sabres are basically Southern Ontario's second team. -

Don't get carried away. -
We know you have a hard on for them. You don't have to repeat yourself.

It's the Athletic, so it's pay walled. But just in case, here's the link. I've worked for a lot of guys like these. Scumbags. https://theathletic.com/2390146/2021/02/16/arizona-coyotes-investigation-toxic/

Did you ever read the in-depth article on the Coyotes? Talk about your owner from hell.

"Can it get any worse?" The answer is usually yes

You can make a decent living in the AHL. How many people can say they had a career as a pro player? Hopefully it leads to a coaching or management gig in the future. FYI, I bought tickets for the game in Springfield on Jan 1. I'm sitting right on the glass behind the net where the Amerks will shoot twice.

I mean the team DOES go up in value relative to the rest of the NHL. The Sabres doubled in value since Terry bought them but they are still one of the bottom 3 in valuation. But why would someone want to become a minority owner of the team? They would definitely make money once the team is sold again. But it's more likely a break-even venture at best while you own it. You have to really be a fan and not care about the money or use it as a write-off.

Not really. We could win a cup and our franchise value would barely budge.

It's 2021. Sell some PA Sabres Fan NFTs

I agree, Bettman loathes moving teams. He had every excuse to do just that when the league took over the team after the Rigas debacle. But I never take any Buffalo team for granted. Especially when about 3,000 people are going to games. And the border complicates things for about 1/3rd of our fanbase. There are cities that would love to have our team and would double the value of the franchise overnight.

You hope.

If your erection last longer than 4 hours, seek medical attention.

You have to start somewhere. Give them 10-15 years. They have 1.5B people to draw from. -
Why look for cancer when you feel fine? Why not wait until you have a grapefruit-sized tumor?

That would be rash this late in the season. We roll with who he have.

I would if I was in town. Unfortunately I was in for CBJ. Frankly Key Bank Center is probably the safest place to be in Erie County. Social distancing is easy. -
If the Pats lost Mac Jones, the impact would be minimal. They barely let him throw the ball.

Speaking of being in the top 12, here's where we stand today: The NY Islanders are 12th. We are tied with the Devils for 13th, but lose on the third tie-breaker, ROW 9 to 8. If we had gotten just one more point, from either of our last-second losses, or if the Rangers game goal was allowed to stand, we'd be ahead of the Islanders for 12th place with a .433 pct.

If you find a case on your team (Vinnie) it's wise to limit further contact until you see how many more cases emerge. And there you go.
