I didn't think they played horrible, though there were a few hiccups... no worse than the Rangers, yet every scrum ends up behind him. His reading of the puck or better yet his second read is horrible. He gets too far out of the net, the last two goals were because he was badly out of position and can't scramble back. He just doesn't gumby. Even Ullmark showed signed of being able to do that. I like the guy and his intensity, but his positional play has way to many hiccups and his reaction time if he isn't sure where the puck is... ie awareness is piss poor.

So Lehner really does get out of position and can't stop a breakaway. Can't a good goalie coach fix that or is he that high strung? It seems so obvious.

So if Kane and ROR get traded and the Sabres are able to pick up a couple No 1s or at least 1 and puck moving D and a young winger scorer I am wondering do the Sabres go after Tkachuck or the Czeck with the first pick and another foward with its second no 1 and look at D in the second round? Or do you go with D as some of the wingers move up? Can a line with Middlestadt, and say Fasching and Nylander/Pulliott work. Put a line together with Reinhart, Pu and Pommer and then Eichel 1st round Winger and OK. Gonna need to move a veteran winger too but the fourth line might work with Jofeson and who knows with Ollofson or another Euro making the team. Finally, next year it may be time for draft picks the last couple years to start showing up.

I can see both both sides of that equation but will tell you my Dad quit being a baseball fan when the Dodgers moved from Brooklyn to LA and though I would not forgoe hockey, I am not sure I could ever swith allegiences from the Buffalo Sabres.

Sorry for this random thought, but every time I see OTOH, I read ETOH, a term in the ER world meaning drunk... at this point it may apply to both the ER and the Sabres if you are following them... just a thought.

I will never switch... never... that being said, I enjoy watching good hockey... skating and follow both the Wild because of Enis and Foligno and Vegas because of McNabb and was hoping the Sabres would have picked up Schmidt from Washington last year. They are fun teams to watch... they both skate hard. Also Tampa now that Stamkos is back... But I never root for any of them against the Sabres and if the Sabres were in contention... I would be rooting for all three especially Tampa to fail badly.
