Which Sabres will take a big step BACK this season?
North Buffalo replied to Ho-Chi-Sock's topic in The Aud Club
Is it October yet? or at least September? Man this offseason is gonna be hell... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etAIpkdhU9Q -
By this time of the year it can be in the 80s probably will get there if we have another heat wave like earlier in the week.

Gotta be a RIP special, but I think he chose because he admires Bergeron of the Bruins...

Itll be interesting just went to Jones Beach Long Island... water was a cool 74 degrees so I wonder if that slows the energy down?

possibly on GDP, but I’d like a balanced budget first and worry about percentage of GDP down the road. We are so over that mark at this point... one step at a time and Id have to look at implications of that number. I suspect defense spending alone is more than double that percentage let alone mandatory programs. -
And Im hoping one of the young guys designated as AHL take a big step. If I had guess Ghule...

Maybe Arrvidson, Fabri or Hertl but thats it. Like Point but he's not on Sam’s level. -
Housley Should Have Until End of December

Not a party issue but a commitment issue, a helluv a distraction. And she probably needs him by her side for appearances, baby kissing yada yada. Gonna be tough on both of them. Politics is one of the toughest contact sports ever and often from within ones own party is the hardest. Maybe time for separate thread in the club forum. But it cuts both ways hockey coaching and politics. Oof. -

Possible Housley replacement if things go south, especially with all the Swedes in the organization: http://www.iihf.com/home-of-hockey/news/news-singleview/?tx_ttnews[tt_news]=12849&cHash=a27c9b3e9019288e03093bdacabb46ea -

And this is where I come middle of the road depending on the issue. I want a balanced budget. Government imo should spend money to promote a safety net, a floor if you will... but conditions should be attached so that the money goes for only certain basic necessities. Therein lies the rub, my basics might not be yours. Food shelter clothing ( limited) and any income should offset that support. Also, in the US, defense spending is way too mismanaged and wasteful. Overall taxes shouldn’t be higher than 30 percent including fed, excise taxes, user taxes, state and sales taxes etc and the budget should be constrained by that number. PS SS would not be such a hole if the government would stop borrowing against it and once the millenials reach full integration that hole will go away. It’s a short-term gap. I would love to see a return to the line-item veto. It worked well in Virginia and as well under Clinton for various reasons. Still think though highly political can be used as effective budget balancing tool. -

Poltical points of view tend to be circumference in nature not a linear continuums. The extremes or opposites on both liberal v conservative and authoritian v libertarian meet on the opposite ends of the spectrum and mimic each other in view points making them almost indistiguishable. -
Is #walkaway a thing?
North Buffalo replied to 5th line wingnutt's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
Yes both sides do these kind of announcements. Once you leave one party the other side considers you a traitor and if you are moderate the new party will consider you with suspicion... almost better to go independent but then you don’t have the backing of one of the machines. Yeh people do unidentify but not enough to truly make them independent. Those that do might split tickets, but they still lean heavily one way or the other in their post breakup voting habits and usually with the party they split with. Too lazy to look up stats but trends rarely show true splits. -
TY will do and will let you know if I am successful.

Ah been a while since I have been to the French River... beautiful tributary to the Georgian Bay. Went fly fisching once on a lake in Maine. I have done a lot of small tackle fisching so I picked the casting up fast. But setting the hook on small trout was interesting. I asked my guide if I have to really set the hook. He said yes, so I used two hands like you would for a small mouth bass. Darn fisch came flying from thirty yards away and almost hit the bow of the canoe. My guide nearly tipped the canoe over he was laughing so hard. Figured it out and recently received a fly tying kit last year as a present. One of these days, when I can find some time, gotta try my hand at it.

The Politics of Gender
North Buffalo replied to That Aud Smell's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
Thanks Josie, LTS and Aud. Interesting read, deal folks from all walks of life in the ER. I just ask a person's name without pronoun to avoid that kind of issue. That being said, I both got educated and confused by this thread. Great read and I will have to do some thinking on it to see how well I address folks from those walks of life. Hmm food for thought. -

Can't do this at work... but tend to be close to the middle on these things. It depends on the issue. -
Guidelines for Club Operation
North Buffalo replied to LTS's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
P.S. Good Capitol Rags include Rollcall.com and theHill.com Also the economist.com In addition much information on Bills and their outlooks and general background on arguments for and against are published by the congressional research service or http://www.loc.gov/crsinfo/ Much of it is made public. In addition the General Accounting Office and the Government Printing Office (GAO.gov and GPO.gov) has copies of laws. Finally the congressional record is a great resource as well. To figure out intent, though non-binding, it is helpful to read the conference report of legislation passed, especially appropriations bills because they actually list the line items of expenditures. Doing so helps to weed through the rhetoric to see what was actually done v what politicians say was done.- 5 replies

Im good with that too, Erne however can play and came into his own before he got hurt.
-
yeh not what I was thinking. Maybe just two or three tag limit and choices should be standard or prescribed, guess that was what I thought you were suggesting

Add in all NHL team names

Erne is young and got hurt last year, but drove play when he was on the ice.
