You prefer clean shaven? (OK, I feel a little guilty posting this. At least with Chz I feel there is a 30% she is actually the guy who works for the Sabres who performs showtunes on the side and sings the anthem every now and then) But I'm still posting it...... -
Seriously....if a group was letting 1 guy run $1 million in credit, this would be a much bigger story with tons of names. Now I guess you can call it gambling on football if you are the one financing the house....right? Lawyer-speak? That would make a lot more sense. A couple hundred clients maybe getting floated a grand, 10 grand.....the house gets beat up.....the backer gets cold feet and tries to pull out....the actual grunts say, "WTF do you think you are?"...guy runs to the feds and tells all to save his cash and now his bacon. Until I see at least a dozen more names pushing 7 figures, this is more plausible. On a worse note, you can also start to wonder if now we know how the Austruan team was able to party until 8 AM every morning in the olympic village...that snowy...olympic village. That would be bad. My guess is scenario 1. Whatever the story, how dull do you have to be to sign over a 6 figure check from a pro sports team in the middle of all this? I think this was amateur hour all around. Vanek just sold his teammates out.
-
Yeah....Vanek has a "Gambling" problem..... Let's look at the facts. Vanek makes $7 million a year The debt was $1 million How long do you think someone will float a debt of $1 million without collection? If....and this is a big if.....Vanek owed $1 mil from gambling.....and supposedly on football.....that would mean Thomas Vanek gambled $20 million on football over a short period of time. Either that, or he is the worst gambler in the history of gambling. The average take on a sports bet is 5%, be it in Vegas or wherever. Even if the group was stupid enough to float him the debt, that means that over the course of a season, he was betting $1 million a week, or at the very least $70,000 on EVERY SINGLE NFL GAME!!! Does that make sense? So......where are the other Big Fish? You are telling me a group is going to take action like that from only 1 guy? If this is really a gambling ring, there have to be dozens more. Athletes, Lawyers, Bankers, whoever. Do the math......

I would have gone with, "You see....the tree-hugging commie states rape the hard working, entrepenurial populus, and redistribute that reward to non tax payers, thus not only taking away from the premium for stimulating the economy and taking a chance, but aslo raising the nominal and net tax burden on said productive entities."...... Because everybody is underwater thanks to the policies of the state and the individuals and families need to catch up. That 14% real unemploy......I mean 6% unemployment is a real bugger.

I could post this in about 8 threads but will put it here. Tom Corbett just got crushed in PA. Gov. Elect Wolf has said he is going to tax the sh!t out of hydrofrackers. The Pegulas were far and away Corbett's biggest supporter. The Penn St. crew has also made sure to help out. So........PA......you may want to reopen your thread........since Cliff Benson is the financial chairman of the Republican Senator from the fine state of Pennslyvenia.....and you'd have to assume he had a finger on the pulse of this disaster for a while, (Oh no....that's tinfoil....who could ever know what was coming in advance?).....you think Terry may have made sure to grab the Bills knowing full well he needs NY to keep his gas profits coming in? To quote Uncle Terry at the Bills presser.... "You don't tip your hand about what you really want."

Has anyone mentioned that the voting may be more efficient in non-urban areas because those in charge of proctoring it and administrating it may be more efficient? There is a district in Buffalo where none of the commisioners showed up for the first 2 hours of voting, then 1 of 4 for the day so far....

I've seen it happen a bunch of times with different guys. I didn't see the context the other night, but was it already a blowout? Times like that or when a goofy play happens, that's usually when you see guys being human.

I have a feeling the next few months after tomorrow is going to be like after a guy drops a girl off from a first date at a Mexican restaurant. Everything being held in and held up is going to explode.
-
Cleveland, Miami, and KC are all playing well. That stinks. It's possible the Bills go 1-3 and only lose by a few points in each. I loved the game last night. SO much passion. Guys wanted to kill each other, but they were having fun and still respectful about it, minus the Suggs cheap shot trying to take out Blount's femur. That's what hockey used to be like for me 10+ years ago. Because of the Sabres, I look at hockey much like baseball now.

I think everyone agreed that if it was a normal race he probably would comed down. You just never see it at that level. It's sort of like No Goal in the Stanley Cup. Yeah....by the strict definition of the rules you should probably call it, but it's for the whole enchelada, so you hate to do anything unless it is a pure murder. I love Bayern though and I give them credit for going for it. I figured he could have run backwards and won the dirt mile. He wasn't on my ticket here. -

If you only followed my turf picks, you may have survived the day. The worst thing was watching the juvy and seeing my $500 trifecta get run down. I'll tell you....that Upstart is my early Derby pick. He's a NY bred and can pretty much be Funny Cide. I looked at him today and he still has a lot of room to fill out. -

Not a great day. my only saving grace was Chitu, who d4rk and Yuri liked in the Derby. Only 7-2 though and the exacta was like $23 for $1. Daddy DT would have been huge. That race played out just like I figured, but he wasn't close enough to the 2 on the lead who went all the way. He was coming but spotted them 6 or 7 lengths. That sort of p'd me off, but oh well. Overall not a good handicapping day. So that means 1 of 2 things. I'm either Ice Cold, or the law of averages perks up today and I should double all my bets and put together a $200 pick6 ticket. Who does Thomas Vanek like? -
What have we learned with Grigerenko?

Pretty much anyone you can name who was any good for the Sabres between 1970 and 2000 was an alcoholic except possibly Housley and Ramsey/Ramsay.

So you are saying Risto is pretty much useless as well at this point? Or Myers? If it's Risto....then it proves even more there is plenty more suffering going forward and Guys like he, Rienhart, Zadorov, Grigorenko, and Armia take years to develop if ever. This may not be a playoff team until 2018.
