This is a disaster. Sitting on 4-5 feet....it's STILL in the same spot with another 2 feet by tomorrow....a 12 hour break, then another 2-3 feet Thursday/Friday.....THEN....60 degrees Mon/Tues. First the roofs, then the basements.....F.... The neighbors had gas backing up into their house and it took me almost 15 minutes to dig 70 feet. I hope the Sabres have a bench clearing brawl and win 12-2. I need some entertainment.

Thank God the wind isn't really blowing. There is at least 3 feet in just 12 hours. If this band doesn't move, plows won't be able to get to sidestreets and you will probably get a blizzard classification just from the carnage. One of the top 5-10 snowfalls I have ever seen.

It sounds like the area is going to get crushed over the next 48 hours. Do they cancel early? If they play the game, StubHub should be fun to watch.

I hate advanced stats!!! The Bills lost 2 games in 5 days.....is that 1 week or 2? I agree.....if I am to continue to drop reminders of the child sex scandal and coverup at Penn State, it is unbecoming to assume that Cliff Benson, a Sabres' officer, had any knowledge of such activity. If I feel I have concrete evidence of any wrong doing, I should prove it in a court of law. That is the arena for the discovery of rigorous analysis. I do not wish to bring any harm onto this board. Thank you kind sir for your fair observation. -

We all have different bars set. If I go over the line, ban me. I'm fine with that. I won't complain. And it's a tad ironic that the person in charge of monitoring the well-being of this board "missed the exchange", for over 2 weeks. Funny how that works...... -
"The Plan" At any given time, any of the 30 NHL teams can execute the Sabres plan and be successful. Just sell off all veteran assets for draft picks...stock up...and cross your fingers. That is all the Sabres have done, and in cases of real teams, Chicago could probably sell off their roster for 3x the quality picks the Sabres have and start from scratch at the same spot. Hope....isn't a plan. It's a coping mechanism.

I concede. Seriously. If you've ever had the misfortune of watching someone close to you, slowly die, that is what my posting feels like to me over the years. Without any passion for the team, the organs just start to shut down. I've signed the waiver and have accepted the morphine drip. Tickets to a game on Stubhub for $8, yet people will stand in line 45 minutes to pay $8 for a coffee and a few doughnuts across the street. What's left? Regehr came here in his 30's after being to a Cup himself. Roy, connolly, Vanek, Pominville, Gaustad, Afinogenov, Kalinin, Kotalik, Miller.....the guys that were NURTURED under this culture and didn't get out in their early 20's.....what have they done? Granted it is early on a few, but it was so obvious all along. Even though Darcy/Lindy are gone, there is still a nuclear half-life in play. I don't know the formula yet. I will tell you it years down the line when they start winning playoff series.

I understand too. I was just saying, your environment has an effect. If Murray felt he was joining a top organization and his early moves resulted in great success, he'd probably be saying more along the lines of, "Anything my Uncle needs, I'm here for him. I talk to him every day and I owe my livelyhood to his mentoring." Instead, he talked honestly of outright regretting leaving Ottawa, multiple times. I love Murray because he doesn't want to self-edit. That's why he is a goldmine into the true nature of others.

Look at the POS avatars on this website..... It's a F'N accepted Culture of Losing!!!

Darcy/Lindy circa 2007-2013......and X/X..X/X...X/X....2013-????????????? It doesn't tie into Hodgson...he was a loser from day #1. We went from "Sole Reason for Existance is to Win Multiple Stanley Cups!!!" to: "Look at this pretty paper where we have all kinds of draft picks who will probably not be ready for 5 years....but golly, gee!, maybe someday we will be good!!" There is 10x more excitement for a Fkng Doughnut shop and sports bar than an NHL franchise. All this from a guy who said had zero interest in real estate development.

I agree....which is why he is trying to get fired....maybe even subconciously. I'm in a dicey spot with this. I respect Nolan big time. His biggest coaching asset hasn't had an impact. I don't think he has an NHL head coaching gig after this. At the same time, he was blackballed his first go around, and maybe with some valid reason. It's best for all parties involved to blow it up.

I guess you didn't listen to the interviews of Kyle Williams, Fred Jackson, and Eric Wood, before the past 5 day implosion. You see it now with Ted Nolan. Part of being a winner is "efficiency". When you know you are being set up to fail, by your team president who goes on the radio for 18 months telling you how great it is to finish last, and your season ticket holders get sent out a brochure showing you how great it is to get rid of veterans for draft picks, and an owner who has taken his identity to selling doughnuts over playoff tickets......any reasonable person....especially someone of blood and guts who will die for valor......is going to give you a big old FU at a certain point. I've mailed it in posting the past 2 years. I used to love doing research and stats backing up points. It doesn't matter anyomre. Why should I work my ass off on a team and fanbase that doesn't give a sh!t? I used to get people complaining about how long my posts were years ago. Not anymore.....because there is nothing left to say.

Why do you think I started this thread? Nolan hasn't worked. To me, that isn't on Nolan. You can't serve two masters. I would love for Nolan to walk on his own account. I think that would be the manly thing to do. It would be a delicate balance of looking like a quitter, but at the same time, embarassing those who brought you in. It looks bad on 2 fronts. Which is why the proper path is acceptance, and taking it on the chin when the time comes. It's a crappy situation for the guy. I'm surprised there isn't more of a discussion about Tim Murray and the Ottawa situation. He said if he knew his uncle was sick, he would not have come to Buffalo. He is sad and feels regret. I am sure this is mainly out of familial concern, but at the same time, if he just orchestrated a run to the conference finals for a valid franchise, his comments may have trended more towards 100% support than regret. It is a telling situation, and as much as people here love burrying their heads in the sand during real life crisis, this has implications in not only Tim's lament, but an opening in Ottawa at some point soon. God Bless his uncle. I really respect that guy.

I was actually excited about the team in 2005-06. The 2006-07 Sabres were cowards.... 1) Ovechkin nails Briere from behind. He admits it was dirty and knows Briere is not a fighter so challenges Drury multiple times who would not go. Briere then waits until another game and hides behind Campbell to spear OV 2) Kaleta turtled and slewfooted 95% of the time if the guy was over 140lbs. 3) Mair hit a half dozen guys from behind into the boards 4) The supposed courageous brawl, Lindy sent 3 goons after a line with more talent than the Sabres have had for 25 years. Emery had Biron in a totally prone position and could have humilited him, but laughed it off and let him up. His reward was to have a useless good come and try to fight him. That was embarassing. If a man takes a shot at you, you don't go after his daughter. And last night......I wasn't so upset that Myers didn't fight, but Mike Ramsey had to be spinning in his grave on that 3rd goal. I know he's still alive, but he may have killed himself knowing he once wore the same jersey.- 311 replies

I was talking about you! No, you're right. Don't worry, you can both outrun me. I just think this situation highlights what a loser's mentality it is to build a culture of losing for a small chance at getting a superstar. Things change....and right now, McDavid's glove size just changed.

I had the game on dvr.....my neighbor just got back from Long Island and was grilling fresh scallops and lobster and called me over. If I die tonight....I'm fine with that. Zadorov was impressive. Someone had a hold of the guy and he jumped over his own teammate to get punches in and take him. I really like Myers as a person and truly feel he is at risk for his own health. I don't dislike him. He is what he is though. I would let Jason Pominville bang my sister, but I don't want him as a captain of my NHL team. I would watch Wedding Crashers and pass Doritos on the couch with Tyler Myers, but I don't want to pay him $6 million a year for the rest of his life to be a #3 defenseman on an average team.- 311 replies
