Anyone else rooting for the Sabres to not win the lottery. I have concerns about Owen Power and want that choice eliminated from the Sabres.

McKinnon and Landeskog are on ridiculous contracts, nearly making half of their peers. They are the unicorn, some teams get lucky this way, but it’s rare that teams are able to lock up MVP type talent at half their value.

For me personally, letting Larry walk was fine. Replacing him with the worst forward in the NHL was unacceptable. They had 3 guys on the roster that could have done it. The front office needs to listen to analytics people. Eakin’s name would have been dismissed immediately if they did a 5 minute google search. Random buttholes on Twitter shouldn’t be better at evaluating talent than our actual NHL team but here we are.

We really need to stop quoting rando dudes on Twitter and attaching credibility to their opinions. I’m on the fence with guys like Chad, Yerdon and Marino. But when we are quoting Kevin who works at Delta Sonic drying cars (not that there is anything wrong with that), I think we are heading down the wrong road.

I still think Sabres fans relishing anything Leafs is a weird flex. Our team has been a disaster for a decade. At least the Leafs have actual good players who pretend to want to be there. Players can’t get off the Sabres fast enough at this point.

I’m kind of in disbelief that it was you who started this thread. Not sure how great he’ll ever be as the league is really transitioning to a speed game, which he lands squarely at average. He does have unparalleled skills, which when used properly, make him a difference maker. He just needs to work on decision making. I attribute much of his follies to Ralph, who tried turning a Ferrari into a Peter-built.
