Yeah I think of Gaustad a bit in this regard. Paul certainly had his PIMs in juniors and the AHL, which Murray has not, but both guys are similarly sized and their aggression doesn’t seem overt. Almost forced.

Sample size is small but from November-January. One fight. Since being sent down last week, two fights. Makes you wonder if someone pulled him aside and told him if he is gonna make this roster, he needs to stick up for teammates and be an aggressor. Discuss.

Hopefully, when KA is drawing up the roster, he puts Casey as the 12th or 13th forward. Can’t count on him much now. Hopefully, the next couple months will give us a better indication.

Eakin had a good game?

He’s filthy. Hate to play against him. He’d probably be my favorite player if the Sabres acquired him.

I’m trying to contain my enthusiasm but I haven’t been this geeked about a prospect since Mogilny defected. Obviously, there was reason to be excited about Rasmus, Sam and Jack but the expectations were so high; those guys almost had no chance to live up to it. The Quinn pick was scoffed at by the Rossi fanbois. Seeing this kid surpass everyone’s expectation has been invigorating.

Literally anyone is better than Eakin. I’m hoping there is a GM out there willing to part with a smelly used hockey bag for him.

I had hope for Asplund. At his best he’s a decent bottom six forward. At his current level of play, yikes. R2 might be the very definition of a tweener. Just not good enough for the NHL but lights up AHL players.

Which is why the Sabres need to keep adding skill. Krebs, Power, Quinn, Peterka, will make a big difference. Make a trade or two to balance the roster and we got something. There are at least half a dozen players on the Sabres who aren’t NHL players.

I’m not sure how many times I wanna see him get walked in an NHL game before I think it’s too many but we are nearing that place. Casey and Jacob are not NHL defenseman.

I unfortunately took my family to see the game. This sounded fun.
