  1. One, best to you and yours. What a fun place to visit. Two, I enjoy the Lightning greatly. However, I can’t even consider switching my allegiance. It’s in the blood. Aside ... my loyalty to the Sabres and Bills makes more than a few of my neighbors, whether they’re natives or transplants, annoyed. They believe that the Lightning and the Bucs “should” be my team now that I’ve lived here twenty years. There’s that word, again. “Should.” Ha ...
  2. Darkest Hour is a must see for anyone interested in history, great men, or both. The film captures the power of moral clarity and the courage to marshal language. Not surprisingly, it also captures the loneliness and alienation attendant to leadership. CIrcumstances in my family caused (allowed?) me to be raised by members of Churchill’s greatest generation. Those who know me well understand I believe we’ve lost “something”. The movie left me hopeful that “something” will step forward, again, when called. It’s also a must see for anyone interested in great film, topic notwithstanding. Gary Oldman is wonderful. Churchill’s Secretary has a point of view that’s woven into the film. This POV makes huge world events intimate and digestible. No small cinematic feat, this works wonderfully without diminishing the epic. If I could have dinner with one person from the 20th century, it would be Churchill. If we had a table with room for six, we could invite Ali, Reagan, Lindbergh and Mao!
  3. I knew of the strategy. I did not recall the perpetrator’s name. Grateful!
  4. Yes. Different is good. Same is .... zzZZZzZZzzz. For life and hockey. Outstanding post idea.
  5. Like it.
  6. Neither will be the Sabres. I can wait.
  7. My two Gators say .... “Go Dawgs ... yuck”
  8. Go Dawgs, with a nod to my board mates.
  9. I’m so happy you found a way to introduce race. Before you did, I just thought Taylor was a mediocre QB. I’m stuck, though. Why is it that I want to see Ulmark?
  10. Sean the Wrestler McJesus Jauron Part Deux .... Chirp, chirp, chirp, cricket, chirp ... me thinks the Bills stepped on some snide and miserable narratives, if only for a day. I’ll take the sun when it shines. Process - 1, Cynicism - 0 Go Bills!
  11. I’m old. I’m thrilled. My eyes aren’t rolling, they’re wide with glee!
  12. I like this. My thoughts have been “we’ved“ and the tapestry looks like this. I want improvement and development game to game. Draft picks are important. However, I want lesser picks arriving at a better destination more than I want better picks arriving at a lesser destination.
  13. Perfect!
  14. Watching Mittelstadt here is like watching Vanek in the Frozen Four. Wait ... historians ... Vanek wasn’t ours yet, was he?
  15. Insight!
  16. I think it’s because he’s a few months older. I believe the older one is, the better one is, at everything and anything. I can’t wait for tomorrow.
  17. As Liger said .. best wishes, Mike.
  18. To the learned .... I am as excited about Mittelstadt today as I was about Eichel when Jack was drafted. Am I nuts?

    RIP Irv.

To be clear, I was complimenting PA’s variation.

    RIP Irv.

What a wonder full turn of a phrase .... RIP, Irv.
  21. I like Team USAs, too. Logos included. I don’t think the logos are there to remind the boys where they are. I think they’re there to remind the world who and where they are. I suspect someone paid for that, like everything else.
  22. I like the Danes’ uniforms.
  23. Grendel wreaks havoc as Hrothgar looks for answers .... I see no Beowulf on the roster.
  24. In two days Mrs. Neo and I will join four NeoEttes and their wives, girlfriends and children for six days and five nights in Asheville, North Carolina. I’ve rented a home in the mountains as a place to bring my wide spread family together for Christmas and New Years. The eleven of us will be joined by a long time friend and his family of five. Our families have spent Christmas and Thanksgiving together for years. I am looking forward to mountain views, big time grilling and meals, raucous laughter, some bar and hot tub time, trips into town for history and shopping, and a day at The Biltmore. Vacations at my age .... creating a destination for friends and family so dispersed.
  25. Merry Christmas, everyone ....
