  1. Sabres All Asian Team Taro Tsujimoto and Alexander Mogilny
  2. The Lightning have developed quite a legitimate fan base. For 21 years I’ve watched it grow in terms of hockey sophistication. Because of the transplants, there are many nights that feel like a Sabres v Leafs game in Buffalo. I’d not call them bandwagon fans who show up during good times. The ownership group and the hockey organization are top notch. The in arena experience is a whole level above that in Buffalo. I can remember the many “who, what” questions when billboards reading “Got Stamkos?” sprang up prior to the 2008 entry draft. There’d be no “who, what” to “Got Eichel?” in Buffalo prior to the 2015 draft. There is a difference. Tampa hockey is ... fun. Go Bolts!
  3. PARRY! I’m mortified! Curses, North Buffalo ... I’ve admired your work. I feel like a schoolgirl gushing over “Robby Sherman” and the “Pheasant Family”. I have visited. It was a pilgrimage. Yikes, I hope I went to the right place! The horror ... the horror ...
  4. My world’s a bit off its axis since True face washed the Hockey Gods and we still we won the lottery. Accordingly, I’m not sure I have anything cautionary to write after seeing “Bobby Orr” in a paragraph about Dahlin. Robert Gordon Orr, from Parry Sound, Ontario. I think I’m feeling the vapours. Edited to eliminate a blasphemy.
  5. Guys?! Did you say “guys”?!
  6. MODO !
  7. GMTM is sobbing in a beer, somewhere.
  8. To the learned .. Does an NFL team do its own physical on prospective draft choices or does the league prepare one for use by any interested franchise?
  9. Yes, please, to both. I’m Gonna Be, The Proclaimers? And, GA ... what a body of work!
  10. Interesting ... of the four, three won with another team ... Gilbert is the only “Sabre”, if my research is correct.

  13. Salt Rock! I’ve had my share .... Keep up the good work ... I enjoy it, greatly.
  14. One, this is smack dab in my wheelhouse. Two, I might give a dozen different answers on a dozen different days. Three, you’ve all identified so many of the songs. Four, Sabres79 and Once in a Lifetime moved me to post. That would’ve been my answer, tonight. The song that foreshadowed so much when I was young ... delivers as much today, so many years later. “They nailed it ... how could they have known”? Once in a Lifetime thrills in the front window and in the rear view mirror. And I ask myself, “well, how did I get here?”.
  15. I really think you make an important point.
  16. I cannot order the following in terms of unlikeliness: 1). Harrington got it right. 2). Smell got under someone’s skin. 3). NS got a warning for trolling. 4). Dog sleeps with cat. OK, number 1 was a bit unfair to Harrington. Journalism is a time urgent fist fight of a profession. On to serious. I’ve watched journalism and media evolve over time. The pressure to be new and first 24/7, often in 140 characters or less, must be enormous. Swings and misses that would’ve been sins when I was younger are predictably commonplace today. We demand. We consume. As Hyman Roth said, “this is the business we've chosen“.
  17. I remember Morris well! We’d hit on so many draft picks ... Perreault, Martin, Schoenfeld ... Ramsay, Hajt ... ah, Morris. His development was cut short by an injury. Coming back from a knee was much more uncertain and difficult in those days. NHL Stat Line, career: 19 0 0 0 0
  18. Keep the signs, Ink. I believe I posted in another thread, but I have a tipping conversation with every Uber driver I meet. Because I’m a business man and a human being, the business model, expectation and behavior interests me. I Uber twice a month, or so. From what I’ve learned, twenty to thirty percent of passengers tip the driver. I’m told they KNOW I’m going to tip the moment they see me. I am of a certain age and wear a sport coat and tie. The skinny, as told to me more than once: Business people in suits and ties tip. They’re tipping all day long. The middle aged and the elderly tip. They grew up with it. (I’m both of the above). Younger people rarely tip. “The APP is the experience and the cost.” The intoxicated don’t tip at all or tip wildly. Go figure. Buzzed beats plastered. Lately, I’ve noticed signs in the cars much like those you posted. I believe tipping is gracious and civil. A reminder can’t hurt and offends only those looking to be offended. Be safe. I’d be interested in your thought. Unexpected and fascinating development ... I CARE about my rating!
  19. Taking the emphasis off Lehner for a moment, I’ll comment on the first shot. Far side, low. That’s a rebound generator by design. I dig that play. I agree with your assessment on Lehner, btw ...
  20. Generally ... two days after due date results in no reporting to credit bureaus. Thirty days gets reported, as do 60, 90 ... there may be a late fee, however. My understanding. I do not work for a bureau.
  21. On my way to my first all star game of any type. Should be fun. There are legacy fans of all types in Tampa.
  22. What an unfortunate intersection of man, nut and organ.
  23. I’m admittedly going off topic for this thread. If my question’s interesting, perhaps one of “the learned” will open another. Those who know me know I use the phrase “the learned” in only the most respectful and admiring way. Thorny is among the learned. He’s not alone, here! You mention Eichel’s skating, athleticism and balance. I see the obvious raw power and speed. I see the effective results. For years, I’ve read he’s an elite skater. The experts say so and I believe them. I have no quarrel with the conclusion. I do, however, have a mind’s eye and wonder if I share it with anyone else. There are times I see Eichel rock from a bent over, classic 45 degree posture, to an upright, bent again, then upright again wobble. It’s almost like he’s going so fast he has different parts of his body catching up with themselves. Do I share this with anyone else? I’m prepared to be exposed as an observer with dull eyes.
  24. Love me some Taco Bell ...
