  1. Thanks and Happy to all! Only 1 in 4 of mine are local - enjoy ‘em while you can.
  2. Hockey Gods and the acrimony of James D. Norris .. evidence, at last, to pump the brakes on DahlinDemonium! (A Neologism, by the way)

  5. Just watched Barbie .... “it’s as if we created a handbook for becoming anorexic ...” Pop culture, viewed through the lens of history.
  6. Netflix: The Toys That Made Us. Very cool ...
  7. Ultra small world ... I read Beowulf in November 2017. I read “Bartelby, the Scrivener: A Story of Wall Street” last night. Empty Nesters Mr. and Mrs. Neo went to Starbucks.
  8. GoDD ... and, he made me a believer!
  9. You never let me down !
  10. I know their paths are different, but can anyone see a DeBrincat rookie stat line for Mittlestadt?
  11. Forty five years ago, today, God found himself feeling mischievous and with a free afternoon. He decided to go to the horse races ....
  12. Out loud! I laughed OUT LOUD!
  13. I should have made myself clearer. I have a view only as it regards Buffett and maximizing value. There are a dozen other posts, here, closer to the TBN and PSE situation.
  14. I think Mr Buffett would disagree with you. Graham and Dodd would tilt their heads, quizzically. I remind you Buffett became interested in a tiny WNY Bank decades ago. It had a market cap less than some other banks’ car loan portfolios. In his own words. “In 1994, Coca-Cola sold about 280 billion 8-ounce servings and earned a little less than a penny on each. But pennies add up.” Mr. Buffett drives me nuts. It’s not because of his inattention or indifference. I would like to have dinner with him.
  15. Grateful to 11 —- I’ll delete !
  16. Imagine the posts if he’d NOT have asked about Housley!
  17. ^ I really like this post. Morning coffee, freshly brewed. My eyes jolt open and sweet slumber’s vanquished for another day. Still, I want another mug.
  18. There’s this place, called Blockbuster, where you can rent almost ANY movie ... and take it home to watch whenever you want!
  19. He will do ... NINE.
  20. I like the distinction or point you’re making, assuming I’m understanding it correctly. The tank was successful. It achieved its goal (McEichel). There can be debate around whether the goal was appropriate or not viewed against its cost.
  21. I gonna be in Vegas June 3 to 6 ... just missing a home game! Maybe the city will buzz ... um, wait, it will regardless. No Buffalo, no Tampa ... go Ovi!
  22. I’d not heard Gate Night. Who knew ...
  23. Hysterics is the right word. More than anything, the little comedic things got to me. “Not so serious” vibe.
  24. My wife and I saw Deadpool2, last night. We were invited along by friends. It’s not a movie we’d see on our own based on trailers and reviews. I was a comic book kid 45 years ago. The movie was having fun with itself and with me. I did not participate in the comic book movie trend that started some 20 years ago. My kids did. They loved super hero movies. I laughed at some of the truly funny and quirky lines, last night. In my view, the movie wasn’t good. It wasn’t bad. It WAS really different. Vive la différence! Nothing’s for everybody. I’m glad I saw this new thing. Which brings me to my musing ... Who is this movie for? When the suits did the demographics, who did they expect to see in the audience? I ask because it’s very adult (language, violence, social commentary) and it’s very teen (characters, angst, bullies and empowerment). Now, one answer may certainly be “both”. I was left with equal parts “they shouldn’t see this” and “they’ll not relate to this” feelings, depending on the “they”. P.S. I texted my twenty something kids. They’d all seen Deadpool1, and some had seen Deadpool2. They all liked the movies. They also said they’d “not bring kids”. Outside my box, walking with others!
  25. Bump. A heartfelt and thoughtful “thank you”. I resurrected a thread and didn’t start a new one because I have no new words. Who’s old enough to remember Decoration Day?
