  1. Read David Marannis (Washington Post, not Times) pieces on President Obama's Book, Dreams From My Father. I'll await your snarky posts about our President. Same standards, same standards. One African American made stuff up, fibbed or lied. The other "compressed, combined and changed" to tell a meaningful narrative about his experiences. Pass the chips.
  2. I understand the effectiveness of embellishment. I don't care for it.
  3. "Flag football". Snap, play, result, pause .... Flag? .... Call, result changes, new game circumstance ... Lather, rinse, repeat. This is the case even when the refs get the call right. It's the rules as much as the calls.
  4. Yell "Marino was a great PASSER but crappy QUARTERBACK" on their way out. Drives 'em nuts down here.
  5. Suh is a beast. He blew Miller up.
  6. 26 - 14 = 12?
  7. BRB, preparing Crow Ironic, served cold .... That was said with a smile ... I still don't need to see Jerry Hughes anymore .... His bursts of brilliance only make his mind numblingly stupid penalties more frustrating.
  8. My timing's random and not related to anything "just now", but I've had enough of Rex Ryan's defense and bully ball. The defense is more confused than confusing. The assembled talent was presented a new scheme less effective than the old scheme. That's coaching ego. I never need to see Jerry Hughes again. DBs have been awesome, by the way.
  9. Not the right call .... hindsight, I know ... But not a good call Could've had three plus kick off
  10. Welcome. I'm glad you're here. You bring a perspective we don't hear often enough. Go MODO!
  11. He looks nothing like me. Souvenir shop.
  12. Your first comment, above, was insightful. Your second comment, quoted here, may be as well. Intriguing.
  13. You know, there are times when I wish I was 27 or 28 years old, again .... And then, there are times when I say ... thank God for rear view mirrors ...
  14. Ok, I had to google .... "Take off thine eye. More intolerable than fiends' glarings is a doltish stare .." I'd been savoring that for three decades ... with two words wrong. Corrected, here, out of respect for the author, specifically, and authors, generally. You made me think. Some of my favorites have long, thorough, sections devoted to the tangential. Hmmm? Melville and blubber, spermaceti. Tolstoy, Levin, labor and capital. Hugo, Les Mis, and Napolean at Waterloo.
  15. I'm smiling. Truly, though, I felt that way when I read the first post or two at o'dark thirty this morning. I googled the schedule to see how many weeks before we played him. I wrote my post in a flat tone, I suppose, as a juxtaposition to the passion fanning flames in this thread. I do like to play against the best. I did NOT want Brady suspended for the Bills game. Meh, what does she know?
  16. I'm sorry he's hurt. I hope he heals quickly and plays for many years. I wish we played him in December.
  17. The most spectacular thread opening post I am aware of ....
  18. I read it once. Among my all time favorites. I saw the commercial last night and look forward to the film. Reading it six times is something I've not the stamina for, however, as great as it is. "Cast off thine eye. More intolerable than a fiend's glaring is a doltish stare!"
  19. I've got my UBER! Interesting thoughts all around. Now, in light of your comments, should I be able to choose to get in an UBER car, today, and pay someone to take me to the airport? Risk, price, time ... The driver, the company and I are willing.
  20. So, yes to private ATM networks? No doubt about the analysis on 4. Regulation, the consent to be regulated, and the impact on choice and innovation ... I am informed as to the views of the electorate ... Grateful all. Still wish I'd heard more UBER.
  21. I thought I'd get more UBER commentary
  22. Listening listening .... 1). Private ATM networks, too? 2). Other critical infrastructure industries, like food? High priced milk in inner city delis? 3). Roads are built with public funds and owned by municipalities. Banks are built with (almost exclusively) private funds? No difference? 4). What would the outcome be of limiting an ATM fee to $1 be? Just listening! Last set of questions.
  23. Agreed .... What about ATM fees?
  24. Further on .... as I listen ... 1). Will rolling back or limiting fees increase the number of ATMs and access, lower it, or have no effect? Does that matter? 2). When you want to limit fees, or prices, do you feel the same about milk, cereal and socks? Are they different? 3). Would you propose the same limits on ATMs owned by the Bob and Wilmas of the world, or private ATMs?
  25. Grateful ... I'm interested in the reasoning behind the decision.
