  1. I'd be interested in the thought behind your thought. Why wouldn't the league touch it? Is there a fan base for the interference? Legit and sincere to the informed.
  2. Interested in views from all of you, the citizenry... 1). Sanders and HRC are discussing Fed action to lower or limit ATM fees. Good idea? Role of a government? 2). Approximately 12 (eyeball, not abacus) US states or cities are banning or limiting UBER, the car service. Good idea? Role of government? I'll hang up and listen ....
  3. I read McCullough's Truman. Great biography. Truman's the last President who didn't go to college. That said, read Truman's writing in the book and pay attention to his classic education. High school, in Truman's era, seems to be the equivalent of college, today. The man was educated, and could write. While I didn't read Meacham's Jefferson, I did read his Franklin and Winston. Most memorable, here, is Churchill's courting of Roosevelt, hoping FDR would join WWII. FDR was reluctant and moved in small increments while Churchill defended the Europe against the Nazis. By the end, though, America's power was the most awesome in the world, and Churchill's place is second chair to Roosevelt. Great history. Poignant.
  4. I agree with you. After all, my judgment on Iraq in 2002 was the same as Bush's, Powell's, Kerry's, HRC's and Biden's. Paul and Sanders were smarter than me. So was Teddy Kennedy, among notables.
  5. Purely subjective and a good point/question. What would be worse than someone who never learned or refused to represent a changed-mind demographic? What I called leadership at the time of decision might better be called judgment.
  6. It is post worthy when we agree!
  7. Awesome! I've played hockey and lacrosse. Goalies are weird! Hallelujah that.
  8. Practiced outrage! I'm with you com plete ly.
  9. Yes. Along the glass in the corner. The wheels are above the boards, so you can imagine the height and size of the SUV!
  10. Potato's link helped my mind's eye figure out what's going on ....
  11. I used to live near the old Meadowlands ... Back in the day. Fine arena, boring hockey.
  12. Am I getting this right ... Is that the obstructed view? I'm speechless.... What's the cost for that seat?
  13. Certainly is valid if the gifts come from Santa, yes sir-eeee. One, we have forced labor issues, sweatshops and working conditions. Elves may have the right to bargain collectively. Anyone wanna bet an elf is earning a living wage? Then, we have health care, more than 50 employees and the glass ceiling that prevents Mrs. Clause from doing anything except bake cookies. I'm not going into PETA, reindeer and the flatulence carbon footprint you get world wide ... ironically threatening the North Pole. Now, I'm not sure where Santa goes for supplies and inventory, but with no revenue, there are tax loss carry forwards for his big, clearly subsidized, business. You bet no one's paying a payroll tax. And, he's just another old white male who offshores jobs ... There's no end to the controversy and insult I can list, real and imagined, as I prepare debate questions in this political environment ...
  14. I'm looking forward to the red, green Bills v Jets. Good stuff on Sammy and Twitter .... especially the feeding the trolls and the "don't refer to little jobs" when you're a rich man in a proud blue collar town.
  15. I read exploring and speculation all around. I don't think all exploring and all speculation was held to the same standard.
  16. Thank you --- correction --- in today's conversation. I will be more careful. This emotionally charged issue's conflated a few different concepts and a few posters have been on the receiving end of criticism. I truly don't recall anyone concluding it was pure extortion. I do recall people exploring the possibility that it was and the possibility that it wasn't. My "recall" - there's no thinner ice.
  17. I don't think nfreeman's concluded she did, in this particular instance. No one has, as far as I can tell.
  18. I can't find a single word in nfreeman's two sentences I disagree with. My only question is to whether it is, in fact, a crime under statues on the books today. I'd guess it is.
  19. How would you view HRC's answer to the Iraq question? First she was for it, before she was against it. She doubled down on it in her primary with President Obama. I'm not being partisan. However, I'm pointing out the danger of being just that. Sharp knives cut both ways. I'm glad you have standards, most sincerely. Do you apply them across both sides of the aisle? Sanders and Paul voted "no". Graham, Santorum, Clinton and Biden (I know, I know) voted "yes". I don't know who'd say, today, it was "still a good idea". I do know who said it was a good idea at the time. This is the true test of leadership. HRC, I believe, said it was a mistake in May, 2015.
  20. Deficit spending doesn't matter in the short term. It can be helpful. I'm broke, so I'm going to use a credit card for groceries, today. It's lethal over the long term. I'm broke, so I'm going to use my credit card for groceries, for years. As I've acknowledged before, Republicans talk this, but don't necessarily act this. Mr. Drunkard pointed it out here weeks ago.
  21. No. I'd point that out and smile in response. That's reason 3,398 I'm not a candidate and wouldn't be successful if I was. "Do you think something should be done about the NFL and FanDuel"? "I have yet to form a Fantasy Football strategy as I prepare for the Presidency. Any other questions?"
  22. Grateful .... LGR - we all have mind's eyes. I am picturing you as one Tasmanian Devil of a grad assistant making undergraduate heads spin. I'm doing it joyfully, for the record. "I got Liger for TA"!
  23. Everything bad is because of MSNBC, Buff's typo notwithstanding. Wait, I meant to say Fox ... er, Soros .... No, the Koch brothers ... and their Media Matters site ... Wait, that's not their site ... It's MoveOnDot something ....oh, that's not right, either .... I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Blame, demonize, excuse ..... just answer the questions, directly, and I'm happy. Leave your ad hominem bogeymen at home. Both sides. I don't think I've disagreed with a single one of you.
  24. Interesting memory, neither praise nor criticism. Trump and Sanders generally answer the question. Who knows the result, but I think they do. Trump gives you an off the cuff response to an issue a non-career politician would give, answering publicly for the first time. Bernie gives you the conclusion a political philosopher would give, explaining the conclusion based on life long contemplation. Paul might be the right's Bernie in this regard. Unsubstantiated impressions, only.
  25. Dating myself. Channel 7, Friday night at 11:30 pm. Horror flicks. The Birds.
