  1. Me! Me! Uh, what do I have to do? Do I get a prize?
  2. I think Miller will be happy, or should be happy, just to be a starter somewhere.
  3. The Sabres announced a while ago they are changing the culture within the team. Murray has said, many times, if a player doesn't want to be here, then that player will not be on the team. Ehrhoff didn't want to be here, and we have to assume Murray has much more concrete evidence of that than we ever will. Ehrhoff couldn't be traded due to the situation around his tenure here. Ehrhoff was thusly bought out. Buh-bye Ehrhoff. Welcome the culture change we have desperately wanted, and the team has desperately needed, for a very long time. I'm all in. And, any one of you who are for the tank and are bitching about this move? You're a hypocrite. With all due respect and all of that, but, seriously, you can't want the tank and not be giggling yourself to death over this move. If you aren't, your opinions and judgments are fundamentally compromised.
  4. I think the "least favorite" should have a N/A option. After Reinhart and Lemieux they're all equal.
  5. That's me, pretty much as well. I liked Reinhart and had Lemieux in my top 30. These two plus Johansson make it an A-rating draft for me. Absolutely, which pushes this draft into A+ territory as far as I'm concerned. Instead of going for the safe picks; players who stand a good chance of becoming third/fourth liners, Murray took the gamble at higher-ceiling/higher-risk prospects and I think that's a great strategy. If I'm not mistaken, that's one way Detroit built up their dynasty.
  6. Over a year in the making...is everyone happy? I think I am pretty pleased overall.
  7. I'm restraining myself, it's true. The don't-be-a-dick line had me forcibly removing myself from my iPod. Like I tell my kids: just try and be nice. You, or we, all need each other in some bizarre way.
  8. Internet King...funny kettle, funny.
  9. I dunno, but I think there's a certain level of craftiness at work here. Perhaps I'm idealizing what I see from Murray; but the persona he projects isn't for us, it's for the other GMs. He creates this perception of being shockingly direct and upfront, and uses that as a way to manipulate his transactions. I make no judgment, now, as to whether its a successful approach in hockey, but it can be effective in business.
  10. Well, damn, if they boo the NFL commish, this country isn't going to give a whit if the NHL commish is being booed. It's normal.
  11. 26CornerBlitz, thanks for posting those summaries. I'm happy to see there's some agreement among them that Reinhart can influence the game tempo. The Sabres haven't had a player who can do that, on their own, in I don't know how long.
  12. Poor kid, I bet during all of that he wants to run away and jump and yell. They take the monkey by the leash and show him off.
  13. Holy crap. I know he's our shiny, new toy, but, if this is how he presents himself to the media now, his post-game interviews in three years will be brilliant (for an athlete interview).
  14. He looks a little like Briere.
  15. Should have gone for under 2 seconds. Love Murray.
  16. This means a Myers trade is less likely.
  17. Here we go, boys and girls! A year in the making...
  18. That would have to mean the Islander's pick increases slightly in odds, then, no? That wouldn't be a bad thing at all.
  19. Goodness, no. Not to sound like a typical Sabres' fan, but I would prefer Moulson or Ott over Spezza.
  20. On point one I agree completely. Myers is primed, now, to either break out or...not. His value is at its bottom, but won't drop (much) if he doesn't break out next season. Detroit is being rather overt with their interest. On point two, I would give him only the next season to see where he's going. If it's clear he's maxed out on his potential, then, trade him at the deadline. If he starts breaking out, then, you have to keep him.
  21. I guess I'll make this comment here, since it's THE thread and all... But, folks, I wouldn't worry about how this changes the previously accepted function of the draft, which is basically to help bad teams acquire players who will help them, eventually, become better teams. What will happen is that in June of 2016, they're going to have another board of governors meeting and reinstall the system that was in place before this current lottery system. Because, you know, the generational talent will have come and gone and Buffalo will not, hopefully, be in a position to tank again.
  22. It's always the Germans...their problem is they over-rate themselves. They try and cast off their raw humanity, instead of trying to make that work for them. They see themselves as the ultimate machines, when, indeed, they'll always be humans. If they embrace their emotions, and let them become spiritually invested, why, then they are likely to succeed.
  23. No, no. See, you guys didn't read the contract, especially the clause that starts with "NO TRADE". You're stuck with me. Try trading one of the Canadians.
  24. I think right away they'd have ~ equal or greater odds, no? Nevermind...I forgot the third pick was St. Louis.
