  1. O rly? It's at the beginning of this very thread.
  2. I read these arguments and it's like a bunch of BS. Are they not going to select "the best player" no matter where they sit in the draft? Of course they are, but the problem is the position in the draft. And why is the position an issue? Because if the position isn't "good enough" then neither are the players available. So it is ALL about who they select in the draft and in this particular draft it's all about McDavid. Deny it all you want, but there are two seasons worth of archived posts on the matter the majority of which advocate tanking in order to get the best chance at McDavid; you're lying if you don't admit it.
  3. giggity The refs DO know what interference is.
  4. Yup. AHLer. The refs makin' sure the Wings get their points tonight.
  5. The D was pretty good tonight through all pairings. Not one stood out as being "horrible" overall, and especially considering the competition. Leino stood out for turning the puck over several times and looking lost generally. But even his game, for what it is, looked determined. The Blues D is hot and did their job well keeping the Sabres anemic offense to the sides, for the most part. If the Sabres had any real scoring they may have won that game. By now, it should be relatively clear what the Sabres have, who they need to drop, and what they need to pick up. I don't think the D or the goaltending is the problem. They need offense that can maintain possession and take control of the play with far more consistency. The D guys can't always clear the zone by themselves; the forwards need to help out. Also, let's not forget that what makes a D look good is a competent offense. Once there's some legit scoring lines all other roles will look improved.
  6. Hodgson is still a slacker.
  7. Damn, every time I compliment the guy he gets scored on.
  8. Lieuwen has a lot of natural assets as a goalie that he already uses well. Give him more experience and coaching and he'll be a regular.
  9. He has proved that he is way more useful than most of the AHLers and fill-ins.
  10. If the Sabres roster were full of players with the skill and "compete" level of the youngsters, rather than half AHLers and fill-ins, they'd be pretty good. I like what I see from the youngsters here against the Blues.
  11. At least in the arena they're safe; otherwise there's nothing you can do.
  12. I remember getting freaked out when I lived in Texas and there were tornado warnings. The lifers there treated them like they were no big thing.
  13. Careful, you'll get ridiculed.
  14. Ehrhoff was like WTF kind of pass was that, Leino.
  15. Lieuwen playing with a little confidence. He loves his glove. I gotta keep my mouf shut.
  16. I know the Blues want the points, but it still looked like they were taking it easy on the Sabres.
  17. May the Schwartz be with you.
  18. I agree with this. No one is going to give the Sabres a Murray-level return for Stafford as he is, anyway, so we're going to see what kind of a season he can pull out of his butt next year no matter what.
  19. Nolan has Hodgson on the wing, now. I think Nolan and GMTM are tiring of Hodgson's inability to turn up his game. My guess is that it wouldn't take much of a trade offer to see Hodgson on the short bus out of town.
  20. I don't know for sure, but I think if you ran full speed (on skates) into an iron post you wouldn't be able to play some games afterwards as well. Just a guess, though.
  21. I would say Z, Neuvirth, and Myers as well. I can't imagine he means any of the non-regulars like Risto.
  22. Miller is on fire in this game. Miller gets his shut out!
