I can't think of a more miserable way to begin the season than to feel the dark shadow of expectations once again seeping into the locker room. As I mentioned earlier today, with the buzz word being "culture", another practice when the schedule is so tight early will suck the fun out of it for the boys. I think one of the priorities of the team is to try and somehow allow the players to have fun with what they're doing and re-capture the loose-ness of the game from their youth that made it special for them.
As Stephen King once wrote "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."
The longer this game goes on, the more annoying it becomes. Just name a captain. Every fricking team has a captain, there's a reason for it, whatever. If the "C" is "no big fricking deal" then just name a guy and get it done with. WTF.
This could very well be among the reasons he was sent down. Remember the buzz word is "culture". You don't want someone with an attitude like that messing up the culture. Better to break him of that, first, like sending a horse to the Amish.
$45 a month. You need to check with them about whether your zip or IP will allow you to get the Sabres MSG feed, though. FWIW, you also get a lot of usual cable channels, too.
I mainly agree with the Dahlin take. Not sure I agree fully with Mittelstadt. Depending on how the rest of the roster shakes out, I might be fine with him staying up...or not. I'm on the fence, still, with that guy.
