I saw a few cute plays that made me yell at the TV. Not sure who it was, but I did notice TT taking some shots. I don't know if I liked his game, though, generally. He's still weak on the puck. He is good for a few shots and creating turn-overs...I'll give him that.

I think JBots really needs to fix the secondary scoring issue maybe sooner than later or we might be fighting for a wildcard spot.

Hutton has stole us games, today he lost us one. The Sabres aren't Cup contenders this year, not with the roster as it is. If we had another line that could score, it might have been tied right now. I didn't think that game was boring at all. It was two good teams playing a good game against one another - lots of tension. The team with the experience won once again.

I don't think it goes above $8 mil per. Skinner can score goals with the right players around him, but without the right players he's not going to do what he's doing here points-wise. And he's not a 2-way force by a long shot. Dude's making $5,725,000 now. I think $7,725,000 x 8 gets it done, or round it up to $62 mil over 8. That contract would put him in the $100 millionaire club. That kind of money plus the opportunity at his name being on the Cup and on "best of" sheets for decades ought to be worth it to him.

That math doesn't account for Skinner's current salary. There's more to play with than that.

Not that it shattered my world, but the ending of that game was upsetting. Through 2 periods, they had that game in the bag. Unfortunately, I was doing some work during the third so while I listened, I didn't watch it intently. Therefore I can't say what I think happened, but, regardless, whatever did happen to lead to the loss is really inexcusable.

FWIW, I said he'll be ready when...insinuating that he'll work out the bugs and, ideally, learn a lot more from Hutton, by the time he takes over as number one. We have at least a season and half before that happens I think. Ullmark will be fine.

I think your analysis of how Samson affects the Eichel line is correct, but I don't agree on moving him from it. Samson took some time to work up into his role on that line, but he's doing very well and there's no reason to change it. If JBotts has anything to do, it's to leave the Eichel line alone and figure out what to do with the second and third lines. I know this is about the top lines, but if we're talking about priorities in offense, I would say lines 1 and 4 should be left alone, they are working perfectly fine.

Totally. I think Ullmark showed us that when Hutton is ready to not be our number one he will be ready to take over.

So, I think after these past two games I'm going to allow myself to believe this team is legit.
