Timely post. I was thinking along the same lines. Been bored with the nothings happening for the past few weeks and it occurred to me we still have several more weeks to go before we're likely to have anything interesting to talk about. The summer is very nice, and I prefer the weather over winter, but, I would like some hockey something-or-other.

I honestly think Botterill decided to gamble with roster moves and now he's doing this: I would not be the least bit surprised if he traded some players away and got some crappy picks back. Maybe an unsigned prospect to go along with the picks. I will be delighted if he just makes a hockey trade. I will be ecstatic if he makes a trade that is biased in our favor. Not thinking the latter two are as likely at the moment, though.

Okposo on that line would do no better than Pominvilestein. He wouldn't be able to keep up. The point of the Eichel line is to be fast. RK won't put anyone on that line who can't keep up because, if he's true to his word, Eichel and Skinner will want to play with a fast dude. Olosffon is that guy unless he blows it at camp.

I'd rather not add a piece that isn't what we need. So, if that involves waiting, that is the hole we're dug into.

Agreed. I'd rather the "center by committee" concept referenced earlier. Find a better winger to partner with Sam and cycle ERod, Mitts and whomever in the 2C spot. Just wait until the right trade develops.

No no, we don't know that yet. We've see three-ways happen over the years. I'm referring strictly to the trades imagined/suggested here in this thread. Again, unless I'm wrong, I think we've been neglecting the possibility here. And, again, if I'm wrong, happy to be corrected. Be that as it may, if you add a third partner to these trade deals we've (well, some of us) have been throwing down here, we might actually wind up with a 2C, rather than another winger, for Risto.

Well, I would make the argument that since he was a big player, he really doesn't understand how larger players impact the game. He might have saw select smaller players whizzing hither and yon on the ice and marked that, not realizing the smaller guys are impacted by the larger dudes probably just as equally.
