FWIW, it doesn't stop 20 years afterwards. -

That's what I get for paying him a compliment earlier today. -

Haven't been following the thread. Christmas shopping. Anyone mention, yet, that Marty, Duff and Hamsammich are on location in Calgary? -

I don't know about "great", but I'm willing to buy into "solid". He's actually performing under expectations still, but he has been more reliable than Hutton. -

You should be able to edit the title. I think. Maybe? -

Oi! You're right, my bad. I should not post before the first cup of coffee. Readers, ignore the last several posts if you don't want to be confused.

Which is a formula that has been working. I really hope RK opts to healthy scratch KO than disrupt a working lineup.

I thought that looked too small. That's for WBEN, not WGR, these are WGR: day - https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WGR&service=AM&h=D night - https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WGR&service=AM&h=N WGR still has the 50,000 watt transmitter. In the biz, it's called a "blowtorch".

Yeah, but, no one moves here.

So, ERod might still have some cache. He and another forward plus a D man can be packaged up for a trade or trades. They don't all have to be a part of the same trade, but orchestrated in some manner as to clear a spot on the middle 6, collect some trade assets and wheel and deal for some scoring help. I'm not in this thread every day, so I may have missed it, but what's stopping Botterill (other than Botterill himself) from sending away a guy like ERod for a 5th round pick, and then turning around and using that pick in a 5th round pick/Sobotka pacakge and getting back a 3rd round pick. Then using that pick as a 3rd round pick/McCabe package for a middle 6 guy who can do 20 goals or so and lay some heavy?

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch
... replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
My wife has been binging Yellowstone. She kept going on about how good it was, and I would sit down for a minute to catch a little. Anyway, I finally sat down to watch full episodes while she was in the middle of the second season. It's like the Godfather combined with a good John Wayne western. Wish I had watched more of the earlier episodes. Some of the production looks like it was done by the people who worked on Westworld (opening sequence for sure, but the cinematography has a similar feel, too). Also saw Ford vs. Ferrari over the weekend. Surprised by how good it was. You need to appreciate an "older" style of linear story telling in film instead of the chaotic modern style of jumping all over the place. Bale and Damon do a fantastic job and the supporting cast is very good, too. You don't need to know or care about car racing for this film to work. -
The Pegulas have a nice deal with MSG and control a lot of the programming as it is. This page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSG_Western_New_York provides details. One of the prime take-aways is this: "MSG as part of the agreement pays $19 to $20 million per-year in rights fees to broadcast Sabres games and programming, as well as Buffalo Bills programming..." To juice any more out of that nugget they'd have to take that $19 to $20 million and invest it in creating and marketing programming. As @SwampDpoints out above, they have run the numbers, and are content with what they get out of their relationship with MSG. It would take significant effort and an outlay of money to do any more than they already do. It's not unlike the hockey club - you need real talent to increase the quality of the output and that talent costs money. The broadcasting industry is not known for paying money to retain talented people. They will pay personalities at the top of each tier, to a point, and the executives will pay themselves, but after that, the money disappears.

It's elite in its ridiculousness. He really ought to just give in and just let it all grow out to a lovely flow.

This would explain the call from the Sabres to my home the other day. They're definitely not looking at hiring me.

He's on a 69 pt pace.

Indeed, and Victor's is pretty impressive, too, for it being his first full NHL season.
