  1. I know Angry Larry is our HOT commodity this trade deadline, but I'd rather keep him for the fourth line.
  2. My friend, you are wrong in thinking this is nothing.
  3. So, there is a lack of consistent vision within the whole of Pegula-dom. Surprising? No. Stunning in that, once again, not all of the horses are under control and following the same path.
  4. Skinner's contract and RK's deployment of Skinner are proof that RK and Botterill do not see player potential/usage the same way. This is a problem we've seen here going back to the last years of Lindy and Darcy's tenure. Marty, essentially siding with the Duanes and putting Skinner's issues on Skinner means Marty is siding with RK.
  5. I loved the slow, no mess, olde skool vibe of the place. Simple fair, a not-expensive destination for an evening. I think they completely messed it up trying, even remotely, to compete with Darien Lake, and instead missed maximizing the leverage they did have: location and nostalgia. They should have went all-in on the nostalgia aspect and made it a complete experience. Now it'll be sold and the homogenization of the Western world will take another step forward.
  6. That's prime space for a Walmart.
  7. Then WTH are you making a quip about it? The Pegulas got owned in the sports media of two countries - utterly embarrassed - by the unfolding of the entire Duane episode. If they're NOT paying attention to it, if they're NOT making decisions "based on Duane" then they deserve more and more and more Duane and God help the fans.
  8. Are you familiar with the "entire Duane episode"?
  9. I think the entire Duane episode has changed that. Botterill is no longer safe.
  10. This is it, mostly, and my only reservation is whether or not our situation is unique enough to be classified as unique. There are as many types of business owners as there are types of hockey player. Some have great instincts for the business they are in, some know instinctually to get out of the way of the people they hire. Some think they know what they are doing, really don't, but somehow manage to survive despite the chaos they create as owners. The variations go on and on. In Pegula's case I think we're dealing with these factors: Pegula is a fan who owns the team Pegula, because of his success in the O&G industry, thinks he can be a success in other industries Pegula has given control of the team to his wife, who was a Media and Entertainment dilettante (and is now a M&E incompetent) The Pegulas can not recognize that they need to get our of their own way with the Sabres
  11. This line of thinking needs to stop, it doesn't make sense. It's like believing your order from Amazon will be at your front door mere moments after you place it (cue the idiots with the "well, with drones and disty centers in every major metro, it could happen...! Err, dheerrr"). Let's be realistic: trades and deals take time and don't just happen, usually. This is fine and absolutely not an excuse for Botterill, just a reality fans need to accept. You don't just roll up to the NHL Trade Drive-Thru and get yourself a trade. Well, you can, but you wind up with Frolik. I don't think Botterill wrote this season off, I think Botterill made three mistakes this season: He thought this team would compete for a playoff spot. The moves he has made and not made since the summer strongly indicate this, which are tied to point number two. He is seriously challenged at talent evaluation. He thought his D acquisitions would turn into instant trade capital. Now he is stuck and the rest of the GMs in the league know it. The lack of activity presently is not a reflection of some long-term vision, it's the result of being incompetent at his job.
  12. I can't believe this hasn't been posted here yet: Someone posited that he may have known the camera was on him and this was an act.
  13. I think all of this is correct.
  14. Hutton over commits to those sides too much.
  15. Thanks. Restarted my Fubo app, we'll see if that helps.
  16. Yeah not the helpful.
  17. Anyone's feed having some glitches?
  18. Well, think of it this way, they're only down 2.
  19. Looks like we're not going to be buyers.
  20. They pushed the envelope on their Hutton-luck.
  21. Did they take a bus to Ottawa?
  22. Well, if that's true, the broadcast mentioned the shorty stats early on, then TO.
  23. Oh dear.
  24. Oops.
