Eichel thrown under the bus by Vegas HC Bruce Cassidy
K-9 replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
In terms of pushing himself, Eichel trains and prepares as hard as anyone imo. I just think Eichel arrived in the league already very close to his ceiling, while others needed some time to mature physically, etc., before taking off. Jack just didn’t have as much room to grow. And McDavid is just in another stratosphere and Jack was always gonna have second chair in the orchestra playing next to him. -
Almost didn’t see Boston. They are nearly literally off the chart.

Eichel wanted out in the summer of 2020, so it was easy for KA to see Eichel wasn't on board. -
Lotta that going around lately.😂

Actually, I was wrong. He was the 1st overall in the 1970 NBA draft. For whatever reason I thought he fell a pick or two. But he was the consensus number one his entire senior year so I'm not surprised. They never had the opportunity. But anyone would have been better than John Hummer.😂

He was the guard on Villanova’s team that accidentally injured Bob Lanier in the east regional final of the 1970 NCAA tourney. Bona won that game and advanced to the final four, but without Lanier they had little chance. That knee injury probably cost Lanier being the number one pick in the draft, too.

I still haven't forgiven Chris Ford!

Would that be the same defensive coach with one of the league’s most explosive offenses the last three seasons?

That’s a completely different argument than saying the public has a right to the information. -

This is simply not true. There is no codified right for the public to know one way or the other. Half the presidents in history had health issues that nobody knew about either at the time or not until after the fact. -

I agree entirely. The last several games, especially. That was “moving day” and they didn’t show up when Donnie G should have been convincing them that the time is now and they needed to play with desperation. “Oh, but they hung tough with Seattle and Winnipeg. They can compete with the good teams.” That is horse crap because teams that compete with good teams don’t get shut out at home by bad teams and give up two goal leads in the third to the worse teams. We all know they need better goaltending and D depth. That they need experience and maturity. But what they need more than anything is an infusion of Give A F**k. -

It isn’t one god damned straw; it’s fifty years of straws. That’s a lot of straws and tens of thousands of dollars. There is nothing sudden about this so I’m bemused by your bemusement as well. Here’s what it looks like to me: this is a team full of players content with just playing hockey. No desperation, no realization that they are in a playoff race and little concern if they make it or not. They are using “development” as a crutch. And that includes Granato. So pardon me if that’s worn thin at this point. The least they can do is care as much as I do. -

Totally understandable. And they flat out did Fleury wrong. Not only a great goalie who led them to a cup final in their first year of existence, but also the face of the franchise and a pillar in the community, especially after the hotel massacre. -

I got nothin’. Was really looking forward to the Miller celebration on Thursday, but they don’t deserve another minute of my support. Friends and family can have my STs for the rest of the season. I’m spent. And for the first time in decades season ticket renewal is questionable. -

Yep. And the Monday night game vs the Bengals was the highest rated Monday night game in history. Two of the smaller TV markets to boot. -
Starting to do that the last few shifts. Gonna pot one soon.

Panthers play us like they know they are better. You’d think we would be tired of that arrogance, but we just seem to feed it.

As perhaps his biggest critic, I’ll say he’s been trending in the right direction. I hope that continues and that the occasional stinker, which every player is gonna have, becomes the exception rather than the occasional good game.

Another team we must get over the psychological hurdle and beat. Now is the time.

Anyone else get the feeling that Tage is pressing it a bit? Seems that since his All Star announcement on 1/5, he’s been struggling with the handles. Not saying he hasn’t had his good moments, but he seems less patient with the puck on his stick lately and it’s getting away from him. Might be time to get VO on the other side on the PP, too. I get why DG likes Cozens there, but maybe VO gives teams another PP sniper to think about opposite Tage. Opponents are giving Cozens all sorts of space as they seek to take away TT first, but Dylan just doesn’t have that PP shot like VO does.
