  1. Parts of it. Which is sometimes necessary. It’s amusing to later watch the highlights of the plays I had to listen to previously and see how much of what I heard differed from what I actually saw later on.
  2. I don’t think you’re wrong at all. So much of today’s sports medicine practice revolves around recovery and getting and keeping players ready to meet the grind. No time for shenanigans anymore. It’s get on the plane and push the electrolyte infused fluids.
  3. The fact that other PBP guys are just as bad or worse does nothing to improve DD’s standing. That DD was still describing Power’s shot while Tuch was making a key play to set up the winning goal only underscores the fact that he doesn’t keep up with the play. And the Thompson, far side, shoots, scores call, in addition to being misleading, reinforces that yet again. Radio listeners were clueless as to what actually transpired on the ice until after the fact. And yes, people still listen to radio. It’s not a big deal, but the Sabres should let DD play to his strength, which is feature reporting. PBP is just not something he’s good at.
  4. DD still can’t keep up with the action and this goal is another example of many. He goes from Power off the post to now here’s Tage Thompson, far side, scores. Huh? No mention of the play by Tuch to get Thompson the puck after Power hit the post and no mention of Power actually scoring until after the play. From his description alone, you’d think Thompson scored the goal. He’s constantly playing catchup. If you’re watching on TV you can fill in the blanks yourself, but the radio audience is left in the dark until after the fact. Sabres need a trained, radio PxP guy.
  5. First it was no goal song and now it’s no pic. Then again, he needed neither before tonight.
  6. Geeze, watching these Anderson saves on the post game show and damn, our D zone ineptitude is maddening at times. Just gift after gift after gift to the Stars. Anderson stole this game.
  7. They better buy Anderson dinner. Those early saves while we were trying to find our game in the first, made the win possible.
  8. Nice time to get off the schneid for Owen.
  9. The apple on VO’s goal notwithstanding, whatever magic Tage had in his game has evaporated. He needs one desperately.
  10. Eichel gonna get yet another coach fired.
  11. We may both infer hesitation but we do so for completely different reasons. You say he’s afraid, I say he is over analyzing the situation. As for being a weak link, I can’t agree with that at all. And unless they’ve changed drastically recently, his underlying analytics support that view.
  12. I’d go with hesitant at times not because he’s afraid, but because he tends to overthink the situation. Not uncommon for young rookies. He kinda reminds me of Reinhart in his rookie year when it seemed he was getting knocked on his ass every other shift.
  13. No, he is not physically ready, but that’s just one aspect of development.
  14. I don’t know if Quinn is ready for the NHL or not, but nothing will get him ready for the NHL better than the NHL.
  15. Zegras is a punk. And he is gonna disrespect the wrong vet at the wrong time and get his ass handed to him. I’ll never understand why some supremely talented players are such A holes.
  16. I think he is playing under the weight of heightened expectations and is gripping it a bit too tight.
  17. I mentioned up thread that Granato needed to channel his inner Lindy but I doubted he had it in him. Perhaps he does after all. He was never afraid to sit the best players if warranted.
  18. Krebsie feeling it today.
  19. Same here. I will never be happier to be wrong if he can keep it up consistently.
  20. Well, Krebs was just out there with Tuch and Skinner, so I doubt that.
