  1. I’ll save you a little time. Barkov and Pasta are the two best bargains. Also, please count how many mistakes were made as well.
  2. Without looking I’ll bet half the teams don’t have any, maybe more. Bridge deals are a gamble and one that has been used more sparingly once players realized it wasn’t smart.
  3. How many players not on Tampa are true bargains? You are not going to find a lot of teams with multiple bargains.
  4. Eichel was a bargain. TT will be a huge bargain if play the last three weeks is any indication. Since Briere and Drury, who should they have locked up instead of going bridge? Sam will be a bargain if he signs for term. Same with Dahlin. Anybody signed for term will be a huge bargain when cap goes to $90M in two or three years.
  5. Point taken, considered, without further comment, although technically, I guess I just commented.
  6. Adams pushed for term, Sam and his agent bet on himself and the economy. He may want to do it again, the team may have to make a decision whether to sign him for another year or move on.
  7. While the narrative is that this is another JBOT screw up, the flat cap will result in Sam getting a lot less then he would have gotten pre-COVID. Look at the comparables and then at teams with Cap space. He might be lucky to get $6M with term.
  8. Do you think this could lead to more late round surprises?
  9. No way they choose Bjork over Asplund but I don’t think they lose either.
  10. I’m starting to think that Sam is Pierre Turgeon and we need to find Pat Lafontaine. Turgeon had a nice career but like Sam, he was more of a great complimentary guy and not the driver you need against the Bruins.
  11. Sam wants nothing to do with playing the Bruins.
  12. I am 100% with you on this but you also can not have guys like 23 disappear every time they play the Bruins.
  13. Most people feel the cap will remain flat for two or three years. He isn’t touching $7M
  14. Well that’s obvious as well. Maybe just as obvious that you need your best players to to be a little better at the finer points in the game. This is a league were the margin of error is razor thin and details are important.
  15. Analytics continues to pound this drum but we all know that winning draws is better then losing them and losing it as cleanly as Sam did on that draw to start the 6 on 3 is inexcusable.
  16. The Sabres love JJ but he will stay overseas another year. Portillo will undoubtedly spend two more years in College.
  17. That’s probably a pipe dream but a guy like Hyman might be doable.
  18. I’m definitely on board with the theory, if not the exact players. While I think the need for “tough” guys is overrated, I think you need some “jam” in your line up.
  19. Yeah but he has to be injured or at least injured enough to pass truth test. You can’t do LTIR because he “might” get hurt
  20. Cap wise it would actually hurt unless his replacement costs less then $1M
  21. Before anyone asks, buying out KO doesn’t help at all next year.
  22. I agree with everything in the first paragraph. I don’t consider my qualified to pass judgement on the quality. If you look at my “demographics” thread, clearly 2015 has the most players active right now, for whatever that’s worth
  23. Right now, the 2015 draft with 74 players has the most players on active rosters. The 2019 should come close. What’s interesting to me, that while we always debate which drafts yield the best prospects, most end up with about the same number of players making active rosters.
  24. My favorite “bad” coach is always Pronovost. A great, very misleading, regular season record.
  25. I have watched that clip ten times and while I know what Irwin was trying to do, I don't know why he did it. OK, i guess i didn't see that Rieder was on the right side, but still...
