  1. Like Free said, he’s only owed $4M each of the last Beto years. Further, $2M next year is a signing bonus, so they could trade him after July 1st and new team would only owe $2M in 21/22 and $4M in 22/23 so he will be very tradeable in offseason. Becsuse of his standing with team, it will be an amicable, smooth divorce.
  2. I know it’s tough to watch at times but a lot of this team is new and had little preseason and the guys that have been around have been through three coaches and three GM’s. Burying him in the minors only relieves about a million dollars in cap and that would be exhausted on any replacement.
  3. It’s hysterical to me that everyone equates effort and work ethic with Lindy Ruff. When he first took over people were up in arms because his team played so much more passive them Ted Nolan. It took three quarters of a season for people to understand that developing a true system actually took time and guys that looked like they were not trying were actually playing more responsible. Krueger has been implementing a more rigid defensive posture and people hate it. Just wait till the next two games, Trotz versus Krueger, it might be like watching paint dry. I hope everyone got to read one of the many articles written about the first ten games from an analytical view. This team isn’t great but it is a playoff team once Eichel, Hall and Skinner start shooting their average and they get the goaltending. They are making progress, the Eakin line will be a problem this year but that is next offseason’s fix.
  4. First, I apologize for the term ridiculous. Second, given your propensity for hyperbole, forgive me if I don’t take it as gospel. I know people are frustrated and I love your particular passion but this team is going to be in the middle of things and when they are we will both be there cheering.
  5. This is so ridiculous I don’t even know how to respond.
  6. Nobody gets high energy night after night.
  7. The players concessions took some of the urgency other team was feeling but I think the goalie in question will still be dealt but teams are still feeling we’re they stand.
  8. Staal apparently can’t play back to back and Hutton just can’t plsy
  9. Every game in this division went to overtime yesterday. I know everyone wants “style” points but every point is even more important this year. Win anyway you can.
  10. There is no doubt that something is bothering him. He seems to have a lot of trouble accepting passes and stick handling. It does not seem to effect his shot.
  11. Wow. Nothing from their obviously injured captain. Nothing from their 9 million winger, Their generational defenseman is still struggling. Apparently their coach sucks. They have played six games against two of the top five teams. And yet? The underlying numbers say dumb coach’s system leads the league in quality shot suppression, possession numbers are good and: Their record is 4-3-2 and would be 6-2-1 with better goaltending. Sounds to me like process is working.
  12. Jersey is better and Isles and Pens may not be as good as people think.
  13. Sorry, he gave up two softies in regulation. Gave up a point Jersey shouldn’t have.
  14. Ullmark stole a point last game, gave up at least a point this game
  15. They are getting next to nothing from Hall and Eichel.
  16. Games like last night happen all the time. No one plays with playoff intensity every game. I like the back n forth with you and I respect your opinion but this is a load of crap. The only thing I know for sure is that last night KO drew the penalty that led to the game tying goal procuring a point that will be important in the end. Has been great this year, of course not but he’s played two or three games with players he barely knows. Finally, it’s a long season and while you may want to lament a poor performance in one game, I’ll take solace in reveling in their point streak and development.
  17. How do you know this?
  18. I’m no analytics expert, but until yesterday the numbers, including “puck possession “ were very good. As someone else pointed out, numbers are meaningless with such a small sample size. Yesterday they were terrible and lost in overtime. I submit that if you just became a fan last year you would be very encouraged by that. The last 8-10 years has worn on us as a fan base and through those jaded eyes the team has no margin for error. They have a problem with the Eakins line that may not be resolved this year but I wholeheartedly believe that this team is finally on the right trajectory but time will tell.
  19. They had one bad game and all of a sudden they follow good performances with bad performances. The “depleted” Capitals just beat the Islanders twice, including coming back from 3-0 down. Most think the Islanders are one of top three teams in division, some think they are the best. How can they lose to the “depleted” Capitals? Because believe it or not, the other team has their own talents and motivation. The Rangers spent two days getting reemed for their effort on Tuesday. They came out and punched the Sabres in the mouth. Unfortunately, last night, the Sabres didn’t have an answer. One of Raku’s mantras is keeping the team from getting too high when they win, too low when they lose. It should bring for a more balanced season but this isn’t football. You can’t read too much into one game. While I understand the frustration and the feeling it’s been this ten year drought but the fact of the matter it’s the beginning of the second year of this regime and like it or not it’s still a process and while I am confident this team is top four in this division, it’s still a ways from a finished product. On top of that, Jack is obviously hurting. Like someone else said, he lacks that extra gear this year.
  20. Worst game of the year and still a chance for two points.
  21. To me, Huglen is the wildcard. He had top six potential till injuries curtailed him. He’s looked pretty good in his comeback but usually back injuries never fully go away. He’s a long shot but would be a real feel good story. Samuelsson is the lightning rod. Some seem to see him as a legit 4/5 defenseman while others seem to see him as a washout.
  22. The Eichel line has to figure it out. It’s bad enough they aren’t scoring but compound it with that crap is unacceptable.
  23. You don’t need a fullback for that and also, as Allen develops he will be able to handle that by making even quicker decisions
  24. My first choice as well
  25. Dabol doesn’t play a fullback and I like that. I do not need this offense to start being a power running team.
