  1. I think he wants to play in Anaheim or at least somewhere out west. Columbus is continuously having trouble keeping their guys.
  2. As I said, it’s hockey, not football. Missing your best players for one or two games is manageable. When the Sabres were at their best in 2005/2006, they routinely played with stars out.
  3. That is a huge win for Columbus if they get something done with Laine, either trading him or signing him.
  4. Mostly what I see is a team, getting little results from three of its best players, playing two of the best teams in the league, definitely two of the best in the division and being a bounce away and every game. I am not saying they are playing great right now but if you read some of these posts you’d think they’ve been blown out in four of the five games played.
  5. I’m not. This team is going through the processes necessary to make the playoffs. I know everyone has been beaten down over the years, and as typical fans are looking at the schedule and division as a problem. It really will be an opportunity. They play something like 20 of their last 28 games against teams they should be fighting fir a playoff spot. I believe they will take advantage of this to make the playoffs. Time, and nothing else, will tell. Yeah, let’s bring in a liar, an abuser, a despicable human being to save what don’t need saving. Ask Mike Commodore, Johan Franzen and others what they think.
  6. Disagree. Their are underlying numbers in their favor. Not all and there are things that need to be cleaned up but like I said, if Jack plays like we know he will, Jeff puts a couple in this team is 4-1 and nobody is complaining. This year is different. I’m completely confident that they are a playoff team.
  7. It’s hockey. Missing stars for one or two games, especially for a veteran team is no big deal. The Sabres are playing fine and three of their best players are struggling. They will be fine.
  8. This team will be fine. One hundred percent certainty that Jack, Jeff and Dahlin will get things straightened out and suddenly coaching won’t be a problem. They will finish third or fourth in this division.
  9. Do you have a quote indicating that? Anyway, like LGR4GM said, I hope I’m wrong but I wouldn’t be surprised if Casey never plays another minute for Buffalo.
  10. All I know is he is so far this year he has fallen behind Tage and Asplund.
  11. No, he has JJP included
  12. I love that you consistently put Casey in the “still developing” category.
  13. You are assuming that they did not try to improve the goaltending, which I believe to be an incorrect assumption. I have always been of the belief that trying isn’t good enough and they have to do all they can but in this case I believe they have. It’s not fantasy hockey, you can’t force a team to help you or count on outsmarting someone who has lost interest. As someone else stated, none of the free agent goalies were worth considering. They fell under A) too expensive B) not an upgrade C) not interested in coming here. Further, I believe they thought they had a deal but a couple of circumstances out of their control delayed or ended the transaction. Now they have to decide if they want to part with certain assets or hope that the current goalies are good enough.
  14. It’s four games and only 6 teams have scored more goals then them. The facts don’t equal your narrative. On top of that, in this league you are lucky of you get 50 goals from their bottom 6. So on average, you should have about 2.4 goals from your bottom 6. But like I said, it’s only been 6 games.
  15. Bottom of roster isn’t seriously weak. True issues are #2 center and in goal. All the underlying numbers have been very good for three of the four games. If Skinner converts a couple of his chances, this team would have won three of four games against the two best teams in its division.
  16. This is just a plain, ridiculous statement considering how well they played the last three games while Skinner can’t buy a goal and Eichel is still playing through his injury. The goaltending will be an issue but if it’s fixed, this team will contend for a playoff spot.
  17. I know it’s a short season but let’s not get carried away. They have played well the last three games. Hope they win but losing isn’t vital.
  18. I know its innocent and not meant the way it seems, but any discussion about Hutton and how this effects Sabres should not be in this thread.
  19. You young ones don’t remember the “hit heard round the world” when Mike Stratton crushed Keith Lincoln but that hit changed the tone of the game and led to the Bills first championship.
  20. What is incredible to me is that they are in the AFC Championship Game and I don’t feel they played anywhere near their best game yet, especially on offense.
  21. I started yelling.
  22. Yeah, can’t believe Tucker had so much trouble. He’s money in Pittsburgh which is usually the worst. Yep
  23. I agree with this but I’m betting on second scenario and more confident then last week which kind of scares me
  24. A) Tucker kicks 8 times per year in Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburg and Cinci, not exactly summer conditions and Pittsburgh is notoriously one of the worst places to kick B) he actually has shown signs of human this year as he missed three including one last week. C) I try not to judge, but counting on Tucker to struggle may be one of the worst takes ever D) this game won’t be that close. Buffalo 37-21.
  25. You have to remind me to tell you the whole story if we ever get to a game together,
