  1. I have no idea who will be the better team in two years but considering the jets and browns have been awful for at least two years now, they should be further ahead in accumulating quality picks. However, the whole age thing is so overrated. The Bills will be one of the five youngest teams in the league next year. A lot of the veteran depth brought in to lead the way will be replaced by younger talent. You replace 7 of the 9 oldest Bills with 22 year old rookies and the Bills would be in top 5 this year. The only "aging" starters right now are Kyle Anderson, Lorenzo Alexander, Steven H. and Ritchie.
  2. Some house keeping; 1) Tickets should be available for transfer late next week. 2) All 10 of my tickets are accounted for 3) Four of my 10 seats are club level seats. I can trade them for four tickets closer to the seats the other six people have or four of you can use the club seats at no additional cost. Let me know via pm your thoughts 4) There are 2 or 3 people selling tickets on craigslist and stubhub if anyone else wants to get tickets. In order to be close together you want to be near to 117. 5) I also have 4 club seats for the Columbus Day game if anyone is interested.
  3. I have a few and I must say I am really looking forward to this season and I have already sold 60% of what I plan on selling this year which is earlier then in a few years.
  4. By the way, Tim Graham, noted Bills' antagonist wrote a nice piece backing up my thoughts on Beane and staff he put together. Don't have the link but I'm sure you can find it. Also wrote about McDermott but I haven't read it yet.
  5. I knew you would bring up Wilson but didn't have time to include disclaimer. Old scouts will creditvdefense and blame him for not winning more
  6. As long as the Super Bowl Winners employ this type of QB, that will be the norm.
  7. Jackson seems to have fallen quite a bit. I've heard several draft gurus mention all the first round QB's and he is hardly mentioned
  8. A) don't be surprised to see Williams added to practice squad B) if McCoy gets hurt, what optimism I still possess for this season will be gone C) these moves are a lot like Knox bringing in Villipiano and Robertson and Bill Simpson D) now all the Bills have to do is reciprocate that draft where they got Cousineau, Butler, Haslett, Smerlas, Nixon.....,
  9. I know all about the analytics and prime. There are a lot of reasons I think he won't be the same as Moulson but the argument I'm making is that he will be valuable to the team and his contract won't be burdensome well past the half way point if his contract.
  10. That's two different arguments.
  11. Or, the cap is near $90M because of the continued rise of the Canadian dollar and his contract isn't oppressive Or, he is one of those unique athletes who excels into his 30's Or, with only $4M cash do the last two years, he is a valued addition to a "floor" team Or, a combination of all of the above
  12. But we are supposed to be intelligent fans and everyone is devaluing back up running backs that don't bring anything else to the table. But as I stated before, I do get the angst. As for the Boldin story, it is 1 staff reporter at a newspaper saying something three quarters of the way down in his article. This is exactly how news works on the twitter world. An unsubstantiated story, that happens to fall in line with an already skeptical audience, becomes fact and in the process this guys article becomes Watergate level reporting.
  13. OMG, J. Williams went unclaimed. Can he be nominated for the HOF now or do we have to wait the normal five years?
  14. You'll watch the opener and then you'll have to watch game 2 to see if the opener was just because it was home against the Jets. After that.......
  15. That's kind of the talent pool. Rising stars, experienced failures, experienced winners and, in the Briown's case, a baseball exec. History shows that not one of those groups is more successful then the other. What the Bills did this time was hire a decision maker who wasn't afraid to surround himself with a number of highly qualified support staff. I like the odds.
  16. I'm close to being done with this but the people Beane brought in would not have done the if McDermott was in charge. Guys left contenders to come here. They are here because they believe it was a wise career move. I'm betting on them being right.
  17. I have to say this. I'm alright with 95% of this conversation and have no probkem with anyone's feelings or beliefs on the success or failure of the organization but this whole being honest, dishonest thing is just plain silly.
  18. I don't lose sleep over things I can't control. I am, however, pretty confident that my three favorite teams, Bills, Sabres and UB basketball are now in the hands of some very capable people.
  19. I think there should be some thought given to the possibility that the Sabres are as concerned about Sam's future growth as a person as they are/were about whether Kane will mature.
  20. A) I'll think they end up with more then 6 quality picks B) I didn't meant just the 6 picks they already have in first three rounds, they will bring in at least two high quality young free agents next year. Again, I understand the skepticism but I don't think everyone realizes the scope and quality of the front office and scouting people they brought in. They have at least 4 guys that could legitimately interview for GM or VP of football ops. The franchise hasn't undergone this dramatic of an overhaul since Chuck Know brought Norm Pollom and his staff eastward.
  21. No, this is what you do when you want to turn things around from the Animal House atmosphere that surrounded the team. You lay a foundation, then you bring in the young guys. That is exactly what this "rock star" front office is doing. They will have at least 6 foundational pieces added next year and they don't want to bring them into a situation without a foundation.
  22. Not criticizing, really, just describing my mood. Williams problem, as a back up running back is three fold. He adds nothing on special teams, not a good receiver or pass blocker, and plays the most easily replaced position. Hodges's simply wasn't a great fit, the guy they picked up apparently fits better, and linebacker might be the second most replaceable position in the NFL given the amount of nickle and dime played.
  23. I find it funny that people are freaking out about the release of a back up running back and linebacker on a team that most are predicting 4 or 5 wins for.
  24. I plan on using it for Sabre game this year. One way will be close to price for parking so I'm really only paying one way for the convenience.
  25. No apology necessary but appreciated. My comments on total rebuild weren't directed entirely toward your position but to those advocating complete rebuild.
