Absolutely, me too. Actually, he may hit the ground running, I'm just not convinced he'll ever get over his mental blocks. He has all the talent in the world, that's never been the problem.

I'm sort of where you are as well. It looks, in real time, as if he turns to head toward behind the net, and takes two or three more strides to speed up, not expecting Smith to stay back there. I'm not sure this was an avoidable play... not sure. He also appeared to try and minimilize the contact without increasing his chances of self-injury. This isn't in the same ballpark as Miller-Lucic, IMO.

Should be mandatory, imo. I understand the "creature of habit" mindset, but Leagues that talk about injury reduction should be focusing on ALL areas, not just the top 2 or 3. This seems like a no brainer.

After the trash talking that took place Saturday between Miller and Henrique, I'm pretty sure Miller will refuse to miss that game (though a part of me is making that up HOPING our goalie would refuse to sit that game!).

All this talk about Patty not backing it up, yet he's the guy that initiated a fight with Lucic when he had the chance. Also, aside from that fight, how many other fights has he lost?? This turtle nickname is outdated. Does he pick his spots to better serve the team? Sure. That's not a turtle. He's my favorite player for many reasons already mentioned by others. The play was irresponsible and stupid, hell he'd probably say the same thing, but let's not get carried away.

When Gerbe scored his first goal I thought, "Well, JJ's gonna be on fire." When he scored his second I thought, "Well, JJ's gonna get himself banned". I'll admit, he's looked like he belongs on that line, for now... you should be gloating a little more. Also, was it really as empty there as it looked?? Reminded me of a Jags game, yikes!

That's pretty much all I got... :( Although, I'm sure we could make a legitimate case for everyone not named Vanek. I don't want to defend Foligno's play, I just think the expectations weren't fair. He's a great 3rd liner who's being asked to be a skilled top 6 winger playing (played) with a winger being asked to play Center. It's a difficult situation for the entire line that caught some fire last year and had everyone clinging to the notion it could work. Also, I've liked Drew's play this year. He's just not finishing. That to me is a clear cut case of some needed box time if there ever was one. Just my opinion though.

Or maybe some of us feel there are others on this team that should see the pressbox before him, you know, like guys who are actually SUPPOSED to be top 6 forwards...but your theory sounds fun, too.

That's my beef. This benching is telling me he was asked to "simplify his game" and he's not doing that. If that were the case, why have him in that position to begin with? This reeks of mismanagement, I'm just not sure by whom. F*%# it, I blame Darcy.

I'm sort of with you here, though I'd like to see Ennis moved back to wing on that line and Stafford bumped down to play with Hecht and Ott. I also think Kaleta/Porter/Gerbe could be an effective 4th line. But I'm a dreamer.

I saw him on NHL Tonight like a week ago talking about these videos and what they were about. I think it's great they're doing this. It's very informative and insightful. I wish other sports leagues would offer something like this to their fans.
