Thanks for putting this together Liger. Looks like the data confirm everything we already knew in September. Ullmark is functional, Hutton fell apart again, the defense is good, and the offense is terrible. Shocking. Incredible that nothing has been done to fix these predictable results. Either Botterill is an idiot, or he simply elected to punt this entire season before it even started...

Yup. I wanted to believe. But he's severely mismanaged the cap while failing to make the team better. And now we get to watch yet another season go down the toilet. I don't trust him with our abundant cap space this summer.

This, ultimately, is why I've become nervous about him going into the coming off-season with something like $30 million in cap to play with. Imagine the bad contracts this supposed "cap genius" could saddle this team with? Imagine the damage he could do?

Botterill's failure to simply make this team better for Jack this year is pathetic. God forbid you lose a trade to get something done. Coward.

I'm operating under the assumption that Frolik will be ready to play Thursday. Obviously if he's not then that could change things.

Cap friendly already has Smith back in Rochester. Frolik took his spot. They have to make another move. I don't put much weight in the SSSS but I thought it was worth noting that he did mention a Pilut recall. Blind squirrel and all that.

Sabres don't play till Thursday so I'm assuming they want to get a look at him in practice. This does put them over the roster limit, so they'll need to correct that by game day. For what it's worth, Jeremy White's source did call this. Said the other day that Botterill wanted to get Pilut up soon, and well, here we are.

This is just being miserable for the sake of being miserable.

I can't believe I'm going to be the one to come in here and defend Josh Allen, but I guess this is where we're at. I think if you're the kind of person who just wants a steady, game manager quarterback, you're never going to like him. He's not Drew Bledsoe. But he's the most talented, athletic quarterback this team has had since Flutie, and frankly that's good enough for me. He's high risk, high reward, and we just have to live with that. It's terrifying, but it's also what allows him to win games. I would have liked the win today. I expected it. Both teams played badly at times, both coaches made some really strange choices. The refs were...well... And Cody Ford got absolutely victimized in the second half. I think Allen is developing. I think they needed to get Duke Williams involved more earlier in the season. I think Singletary had a good game. For the first time since I was a kid there's a lot to like here. The loss was tough. But I'm actually looking forward to next season for maybe the first time in my life.

This is absurd. It's absurd that the players on the bench didn't know what happened. The first thing I need after that hit is a trainer running back out from the locker room and telling the whole team that Cernak concussed their boy with an elbow to the head. EVERYONE on that bench should know what happened.

I'm tired of it. May, Ray and Barnaby wouldn't have stood for this. Mike Peca wouldn't have stood for this. We just have to face it: being a Buffalo Sabre is devoid of meaning.

It should be fairly obvious at this point that being a Buffalo Sabre means showing up, punching in, and then spending your shift pooping on company time. Nice gig if you can get it.
