  1. Good insight Taro
  2. I'm in a similar boat with respect to the MBA thing. I'm in a spot right now where advancement is not really an option, so ultimately I need to make a lateral slide to a path where getting an MBA makes sense because it's probably my only real career option. It sounds like you're already in a position/field where getting an MBA makes sense, so I would say go for it. Like oregelbundet said, it'll broaden you professionally and open a lot of doors to help you escape the niche you're in.
  3. Separating incompetent GMs from the tank is some next level gymnastics.
  4. You can't assume that is going to happen.
  5. They don't even have the cap space for that if Bogo is days from coming off LTIR.
  6. The tank would have worked if the team had been situated to recover from it sooner. If they had a bunch of good pieces in the AHL and had kept some quality vets around. Instead Darcy just decided to do it without anything in place to plug their tank-fruit in to when it was done. So now we have to do the necessary team building post-tank. There's a right way to execute a tank. This wasn't it. And now we're here, waiting.
  7. This all started with the Sabres trading Brian Campbell back in 2008. That was the beginning of Darcy deciding that letting good players go was the right move. We didn't know how good we had it as fans. We bitched about Connolly, Roy, Vanek, Pommers, Miller, Kotalik, Gaustad, like they weren't perfectly good hockey players. And then they were gone and we were left with garbage. The amount of damage Regier did to this team from top to bottom is unforgivable. Gutted for picks and prospects. And we as fans still haven't learned our lesson. We still wanted guys like O'Reilly gone. We have a thread right now where people legitimately wonder if Reinhart shouldn't be traded. Maybe we deserve this. edit: I remember warning people when we traded Miller that we were entering goalie purgatory and the naysayers said it "needed to happen". And look at what we've been bitching about since Miller left? How many goalies have we had since then? We could have just kept him.
  8. Hopefully Johansson is back tonight.
  9. Barrie isn't even having a bad year! His scoring is down but that could easily be attributed to team wide issues/who he's being paired with.
  10. I surprised y'all don't have him on ignore already.
  11. That cap recapture isn't as bad as I expected. They structured his contract pretty evenly. I will add that I hope Botterill isn't placing any expectations on anything with Okposo freeing up cap space. He needs to operate as if Okposo is here indefinitely until something happens to indicate otherwise.
  12. Okposo retiring is not particularly a good thing given the nature of cap recapture.
  13. They needed to win 5 games out of their remaining 10 after the Sweden trip. They have already lost 2, including a game they needed to win against a mediocre Chicago team.
  14. Not to mention they already lost one of the games they needed to win to survive this month. How many more is Botterill going to let slip away?
  15. I don't think Reinhart is getting 7.5 per. His comparable is Horvat, who is a real center who takes faceoffs, at 5.5 per. Sam should get 7, but 7.5 seems high for a 60 point RW.
  16. I meant Boston. I don't know why I said Detroit just now lol
  17. I told you guys Bogo would be back for (edit) Boston.
  18. Assuming Cozens can make the jump he's looking like a good piece. We're pretty good on defense right now and the goalie pipeline looks good. Forwards are definitely still a concern. Botterill is going to have to do some more work in the trade and FA market, especially with some of the cap space he'll have when this season is over. He should be able to fill out some forward depth there.
  19. Bingo. Quality of competition is the biggest factor in the Sabres record right now.
  20. Delete this thread
  21. I think it's just growing pains. I think Bogo was a big influence on him last year and not having him as a partner maybe has Dahlin a little goofed up. Krueger mentioned that they want him to focus on refining his defensive game more and it seems like maybe he's getting in his own head about it. It's definitely a mental thing. But he needs to make more responsible plays with the puck.
  22. It's because we all think he deserved to get benched and we know it won't ruin him
  23. We told you she was good luck lol
  24. Is Jack Eichel good orrrrr
