GDT: 11/21/19 Sabres @ Bruins, 7 p.m. EST, MSG WGR

It helps that they've had such a solid core for so long. Chara, Bergeron and Marchand are basically player coaches. They probably don't even need a head coach. -

The Bruins play such a veteran, methodical game that they just sucker you into thinking you're playing well. They're certainly putting me into a daze. -
As long as Jeremy White's source doesn't report it then maybe it's true

Yes Ullmark should be expected to make a save on a shot that is deflected right in front of his glove. -

It was a running joke in Ottawa that Lazar never stops grinning and well... -

The Bruins aren't going to stay in this funk all game. Will be interesting to see what happens once they wake up a bit. -

Lots of bad takes on poor Casey here. Kid is talented but not NHL ready and that's all there is to it. He should be in the A right now but he's not. It's got nothing to do with motivation or skill.

Let's not waste our good wingers on Jack's line then. They can just defend Bergeron defending them all night and come out neutral. Skinner and Reinhart can play second line wings for Mittelstadt or something. -

If we're doing this "Boston Energy" nonsense then RK might as well put Rodrigues on Eichel's other wing and just let him put the whole line on his back. -
"A perfect fit!", he exclaimed, heaving another bag of garbage into the dumpster.

Zipper merging doesn't actually work because it is a fundamentally flawed theory. It requires the traffic speed after the merge to be faster than the speed before the merge in order to handle the increased volume moving through a narrower path. Ideally you'd incrementally step the pre-merge speed down to 35-40 and then increase the limit of the merged single lane to something like 55, this way traffic is hitting the merge and accelerating instead of slowing down.

If you say so. It looks like a whole lot of nothing to me.

A modest upgrade on Johan Larsson is not inspiring.

The trick, if I remember correctly, is who is responsible for his injury and how that affects his contract, IR status, etc. Winnipeg would probably like to suspend him if he suffered a non-hockey injury, but if it's a hockey injury then that's a different situation. Remember Teppo and his heart surgery?

I really have no idea what a trade with Calgary would even look like for us. Maybe we send a pending UFA and a pick for a player under contract for a similar cap hit with longer term? I don't know.

They have to. Or else the message from Botterill will be loud and clear: "I wrote this season off in July". -

The argument that I've come around on is that spreading talent out among the lines is a good idea if you have the talent to spread out. Otherwise your only option is to concentrate limited talent together in order to prevent it being neutralized by putting it with less talented players. The Sabres, right now, are not deep enough to spread talent out. They don't have the horses for balanced lines. So their only option is to concentrate it on one or two lines and hope the rest of the lines can at least not ***** their pants. -

Jimmy Vesey on the top line probably doesn't end up working the way it should. We'd like to assume that putting him with better players will get him going because he's produced in the past with more minutes than he's had here so far. But all I see is Jack and Sam facing more coverage. At least Olofsson is a shooting threat. Vesey? -
Hey, that's my job!

And with that, the Concept of Babcock finally dies.
