Holy Mackerel! Sabres Win Dahlin Lottery!
darksabre replied to Randall Flagg's topic in The Aud Club
I think Dahlin lives with Risto, but they have to draw a line down the middle of the house. -
Part of me wants to be like "pffft, yeah, okay, like how 9-11 meant something to all the people using it for their own agendas." But I can't get there. You know why I think it actually meant something to them? Because they don't talk about it non stop. Every post-game interview isn't "well we just wanted to win this one for the shooting victims". The team, and the city of Las Vegas, has been remarkably respectful and earnest about the whole thing. They haven't turned "rallying around it" into some kind of spectacle. Maybe it's because of how much the personality of Vegas is associated with entertainment. And that the incident happened at an entertainment event. It was kind of a direct shot at the soul of LV.

What should the Sabres do with their spare $19 million?

The best way to get a goalie is to develop one. -
It's all garbage.

I had one for 2 months. Then the screen shorted out

I kind of assumed that this tech was sorted out. Apparently it's not. There are also no aftermarket solutions for it because of the idiotic way it's designed. Next car I buy is going to have less tech, or is going to be a model that is more established and has aftermarket solutions. The options are getting limited though. They just passed a law that all new cars in the US have to have backup cameras now. So everyone is going to get some kind of screen no matter what they buy. Pretty soon you wont be able to buy a car that doesn't come with all these nonsense nannies like automatic braking and lane keep assist and whatever. Owning a car is going to become a waste of money because it'll cost so much more to maintain and repair all the tech once it starts creeping past 10 years old.

2014 Impala. Apparently it was an issue with some of them because it was the first year of the new generation.

It's a non-safety recall. So it needed to be done by the original owner. Because the seals could fail on their own at this point. Can't just give those seals away for free forever  It's $25 in parts and it'll take me 2 hours to do it. Not a big deal, just dumb.

A couple weeks ago I noticed there was water leaking into the trunk of my 2014 automobile. Another problem. Investigation over the weekend revealed that the water is leaking in around both taillights and that this was a non-safety recall that expired in 2016 for my car. Either it never got done or they did it and messed up. Ordered new seals and will be fixing this myself. Feeling my oats, I decided to figure out what I was up against in replacing my broken infotainment center myself. Extricating the old one is going to be a huge pain but if I can get it out I'm swapping in a used unit I ordered for $81 from Wilbert's in Webster. The radio will be locked out so then I have to take it to the dealer and pay them $125 to program it for my car's VIN. Better than paying them $1100 to do it...

Vegas is nuts

For where we work, maybe.

I don't think you guys know how good we have it. Dunleavy might not be brilliant, but do give the radio guys in other markets a listen some time. There's not a one who is remotely as good as RJ, even now. We've been truly blessed to have one of the best of all time and we need to be more aware of that.

Beauts has grown on me, I just think they need to change their logos.

This is probably also true. I suspect the device has the most important role to play though.
-
Correct. It's not interesting at all. It's just a trick.
-
No, you're correct. It's both. It just depends on how the device you're using is processing the signal. A device that is set to process bass better is going to reveal one, a device that processes highs better is going to hear the other.

I agree.

It's actually a Numminen Winter Classic. He never wore it though because he had to have effing heart surgery. I loved that dude. Wish he didn't have to get the axe with Lindy.

I wouldn't care. Everyone on the roster has a price. If I ever buy the jersey of an active player then that there is a player I would actually be mad about them trading. Can't foresee myself doing that with anyone on this roster. Not yet.

That's pretty much what I think is happening. He's got the physical tools to just eat minutes. But he's just not that next level of hockey smart that would see him be a true #1 guy. He's a more talented Hal Gill.

Don't worry, someone will figure out a way to let people finance season tickets for 96 months at 0%.
