  1. It's in White's first tweet. Shot share at 5 v 5 when it's a 1 goal game.
  2. Welp, if some people get what they want, which is the ascension of Chris Taylor, then the system will already be in place. Since in theory the Amerks are running the same one.
  3. I mean, I like the guy and that's my opinion of him.
  4. Like Mike Sullivan?
  5. I don't remember if Phil was essentially the only viable candidate for the job at the time, but I'm trying not to put too much stock into Phil's hire. I think Botterill prefers to develop coaches within the organization and he's got his guy in Rochester. I'm not sure if Phil means anything to him.
  6. On the subject of Chris Taylor: I am absolutely not taking him out of Rochester until such a time as he has finished his work there. If Taylor is as good as people think he is, then we need him there developing our pipeline, because the pipeline is what is going to get us out of this mess.
  7. I always buy and change bulbs in pairs. I've learned over the years that this is always what happens.
  8. The only way Jack isn't wearing the C anymore is if he gets traded. If Dahlin is going to lead, he'll do it like a goalie: without the C.
  9. Mitch Hults. That's a good minor league hockey name.
  10. It will never happen. Etch my words into stone.
  11. There's literally no scenario of the sort. Jack is wearing the C for as long as he is here. There's no going back now.
  12. Rodrigues being under-appreciated around here, and on the Sabres, might be my biggest gripe so far. The kid gives 100% on every shift and he's more talented than people seem to give him credit for.
  13. That's a good question. I think the talent level has certainly gone up in the NWHL since it started. I would hate to see that talent level watered down again. I guess the question for me is: how good is the CWHL currently? Is it close, or would the NWHL blow them out of the water? Players seem to bounce back and forth between the leagues, so I'm not positive that the NWHL is ahead of the CWHL by too much. I think the biggest problem in growing talent is giving women's hockey players an incentive at the lower levels. Men's hockey players push their development curves a lot harder because there are a lot more opportunities to play hockey for money after say, juniors or college, than there are for women's players. Most women's players go as far as college and that's it, so all they're competing for is college spots. There's never been much beyond that except the national teams. If a CWHL/NWHL merger can show women players that there will be more opportunities to play after college, I think you'll see the talent level start rising to meet that opportunity. The merger has to be timed correctly. Merge too soon and you dilute the product too much. Merge too late and perhaps players lose faith that pushing their development matters. I almost wonder if a better setup would be to use the CWHL as a feeder for the NWHL. Have a larger number of lower talent teams feeding into the smaller NWHL where the salaries and the talent is only the best of the best. 12 CWHL teams feeding 6 NWHL teams would provide ample opportunity for players while ensuring that the product in one of the leagues remains elite.
  14. This is Jack's team so it's gonna be Pekah
  15. The CWHL pays its players now. From wiki I would assume an expanded league would allow for more games which would allow for more revenue to pay the players?
  16. Gritty... Gritty... Gritty!
  17. I'm agreeing with you a more than I would like to be today. What I see when players aren't giving their best effort is: -players not skating hard enough to create space for themselves -players not looking around and assessing changing situations with urgency -players not using their bodies to protect the puck The result is soft one on one turnovers, bad passes because teammates aren't making the effort to get open, and blown coverage.
  18. Good news!
  19. I was just providing counter. If the Sabres are struggling right now because ROR is gone, then surely the Blues should be better right now with him? It's nice to see the Sabres at 3-3. I just want to see more from them that will let me feel better about being 3-3. Maybe Blues fans are more optimistic at 1-2-2.
  20. That seems... convoluted. I feel like taking the shot and letting Reinhart screen/tip would be preferable to more passing. Especially given Reinhart's skill with tips. Passing to Reinhart there seems like a good way to turn the puck over.
  21. If I remember the play correctly, Reinhart came across in front of the net and instead of stopping to screen Okposo's shot he continued to the side of the net which let the goalie see the shot perfectly.
  22. That sucks. He was the only thing worth watching there.
  23. I mean, it's not like O'Reilly has elevated the Blues to any appreciable level. He put up 4 points in the first 2 games and hasn't done squat since. The Blues are second last in the Western Conference.
