You were the pro's pro after this one. You struck a serious, somber tone. Sometimes your job is reflecting the suffering of the fans or at least respecting it, and you did so. The fact he did makes me wonder what's really brewing behind the scenes.

There's the opening for a fan revolt. The visual would be irrresistible to the national media. Not one outside but thousands inside. I have to listen to Adams' comments again addressing the coaching. I thought he hinted that Lindy agreed to the staff as a kind of tryout.

As a matter of principle I also don't think you let the other team stand around for 15 seconds to kill the clock. Skate. Make a play.

People love those staged fights after a big hit. The Sabre was dumb to go. The big hit had temporarily tilted the ice and crowd mood in favor of Buffalo. The fight literally snuffed out the rally. It never returned. Smart play by Yutes.

As for the game, good challenge by Lindy. I had some McDermott snark lined up. I'm not sure these calls should be so perplexing. When the goalie is in his crease, no contact, even incidental, is allowed.

One question. Where is Can ee da? The girls held their own, but I think that's a lot to ask of kids that age. It was hard on the ears and doesn't exactly look like a major professional sport.

How bout our moribose PA guy? Someone tells him occasionally to juice it up and he just can't pull it off. His real job is on air on the NPR station. Kinda says it all. Also Sabretooth should be put down.
