Where is the game?

The great philosopher (and possibly great wrestler) @SDSonce opined that in the NHL fans treat each game discretely as a single season. I think it will be that way until the end of time (Feb. 2025).

By playing well enough do you mean having a decent record? I am guessing that's what you're saying. Yes it's a little early to fret over one game vis a vis making the playoffs. They are not in a terrible spot, nor a good one. 23 points in 22 games is not enough.

Maybe the goalie made it look easy, but it seemed more quantity than quality. He didn't shut out a losing mentality among many fans tho. Gotta score there, Ras. Overall a wasted opportunity to get the average fan behind you. This team has no room for moral victories.

Sabres vs. Wild? Hot take: first game back has no statistical bearing and should not be used as an excuse for... ya know. I'll give it to ya for free, Caveman.

It's odd. That's all. This is a place for discussion of the Buffalo Sabres. It's an entertainment product. Millions of things go into that product that consumers of that product should have no earthly interest in. Perhaps we need a website that estimates the cost of uniforms for security personnel in all arenas, which teams compensate and what percentage, etc.

Good for him, maybe. But in grabbing one of the patrons (technically assault?) and issuing what could be perceived as a threat, his hands aren't clean. Short of someone's life being in danger, you let the staff handle it or call 911. I'm sure Biz will not be charged, being a former NHL player. You or I...

All the thread started out about was this team having a chance to do what the 05-06 team did during the holidays... starting with the same record and with various other similarities that have been pointed out.

He looked locked in. The eyes were darting beforehand.

We literally have nothing to lose. Sabres goalies will have shutouts going every game the rest of the season.

Wouldn't that be an advantage for the defending player?

Why is the player with stick down first at a disadvantage? A few years ago the NHL smartly put the defending player in that disadvantage position rather than the visiting team, in an effort to boost scoring. Also... for center ice draws whose stick goes down first? Must still be the visitors.

Anything to do with the linesman/men being sticklers about procedure? Are they now paid by the hour? It was maddening at times.
