  1. Define "it." He's putting up points in another lost season. An extended preseason. It's not going to matter until it matters.
  2. I like fingering, but blaming the Sabres medical and training staff on a Rochester player's injury is a little (Kramer bugle sound) out there. Meanwhile, you can't make this stuff up. Unbelievable.
  3. To quibble I wouldn't say it's confirmed until it's official.
  4. As rough as, say, 1985 to 1996 was, it in no way compares to the last 11 years.
  5. That was No Goal II. It's revisionist history to say that anyone from the Sabres was complaining before it was too late. Unless you think a sports commissioner should overrule his officials moments before awarding a championship trophy.
  6. Can the color schemes be mixed? For the Sabres to wear it, wouldn't it have to be in the B&G?
  7. I believe Kelley dubbed them demonic.
  8. Krebs juuuuuuust a bit outside.
  9. Maybe the league is trying to get rid of the asinine retaliations after clean hits.
  10. The clean hit must be avenged.
  11. If you have "weak" in Dunleavy Bingo, you're treating for pizza.
  12. Houser has made all the right diagnoses so far.
  13. The long national nightmare that has been Sabres hockey continues.
  14. Pretty close to the perfect analogy. Unfortunately, he had a magnifying glass in his back pocket.
  15. I think one of my fondest memories of Rick will be the time we spent together yesterday. On a snowy January day, he was in very good form, although his voice started to croak up toward the end. He's still trying to muster up the magic. I called the game along with him, in my best Jeanneret voice, and at least half a dozen times I anticipated the turn of phrase. "he rolls that one in"... "rattled around the boards"... "kicked it into the corner" I walked away from the TV at one point and just listened like so many radio games of the past. I picked up on the ice level sound and it reminded me of when the Sabres were on 97 Rock in the late 80s and if the atmosphere was right, it boomed into my bedroom. The extraneous sound was too much and it covered up Rick at times, especially the goal horn. I wrote a letter to Pete Weber, who I think was station engineer as well as talk show host. He wrote back that he'd look into the audio issues so "your soul can leave the logjam of the airwaves." It's funny what you remember. We won't be back this way too many more times. I am in serious denial about Rick.
  16. It's only $150 each. I'm in. Not to frack a dry hole, but how did Terry join the pantheon of league owners? He was a fan with money.
