Must Listen Radio: Caller Duane Snaps Live on GR-55

Have you driven a car lately? Half of them are staring at their phones too. That's not a Buffalo thing. -
So 5 years at a rate that fall below threshold for what can be stashed in the minors. I'm sure Johan will be interested in that.?

OT: Information on Coronavirus from the Far East
shrader replied to Scottysabres's topic in The Aud Club
If it were to spread, at that point there's far more awareness of the virus. Also, a very important factor that brawndo pointed out, with that spread it is probably moving on to a population with a much lower mortality risk. Imagine if Jack Eichel suddenly started taking a lot of shots from center ice. His shooting percentage drops significantly. -
Because of the way you described Olofsson, I'm assuming you're talking about the possibilities for a trade right now. If that's not the case, feel free to ignore the rest of this. I can't see any deal during the season that would involve Reinhart. This trade for a good 2C would have to wait for the offseason.

Forget it. He's rolling.

I kind of like the thought that trash talking someone while two other players are in between you some how equates to steam rolling a goalie in open ice. That type of logic is undeniable.
-
Sure, there's no evidence, but everything people always said about him pointed towards him being the guy who would move on to a bigger market. If that's who he is, that's fine. He had the ability to do so after that season. And being upset about not receiving an offer doesn't mean he wanted to stay. It could very easily just be talk and it could also be a pride thing.

So Kadri mouths off while Montour is held by another Av... that's our line now for what is worthy of praise?
-
He had a good contract year and then was separated from everything that made the contract year successful. So yeah, maybe he did just thrive because of that $$$ motivation, but we can't really be sure. He had nearly identical numbers in 2016-17 and that was not a contract year.

I can name two other forwards who have stepped up this year and it perfectly illustrates the problem: Zemgus Girgensons and Johan Larsson. It's nice that they have, but those aren't the guys you need it from.

It's the classic "hockey trade" they always talk about. That's the only deal that should be discussed when it comes to Reinhart. He's the best available piece when it comes to the mentality of "you have to give something to get something". If I'm the GM, I'm certainly listening, but it needs to be someone who helps immediately. Sorry, I'm not the type to provide names and specific hypothetical deals, but I do believe the right return is out there somewhere. That's not a suggestion that he should be traded, but they should listen.

There's nothing like some good old fashioned fear mongering. -
They'd definitely need a couple Amerk reinforcements in that scenario because you'd be purging them of players in the middle of their run to the playoffs.

I've been on this train for a while. There are plenty of things that Botterill is guilty of, but it's not his fault that Skinner is on the ice without Eichel. I understand the initial thought that it was worthwhile to see if he could spark a second line. At this point, it's pretty clear that he can't, at least not right now. Maybe something clicks in the future with different players, but it is not happening this year. As for Johansson, he's the kind of guy I want to see playing in the playoffs. He plays a game that I think works well there. I'm kind of curious to see if he could be a trade chip approaching the deadline. One more year at $4.5 million shouldn't be too restrictive for a team looking to add some depth.

Kane was never going to stay.
-
I don't think you mess with Ristolainen in that regard. He leads the team in ice time and is having one of his better seasons. Bogosian? Sure, by all means. You're not getting much from him in his current state anyway.

Those types of sports dads are always going to be a red flag to me when it comes to pro athletes, well, at least the established non-teenager pro athletes.

So much talk coming through the parent of an established NHL vet. That whole thing feels a bit awkward to me.

Amateur. You need to take the phone away before tying them up and throwing them in the trunk.

Interesting. I didn't know they award it right away, but figured they'd wait until Toronto touches the puck. I wonder if that would void out any assists if a pass had sprung loose Pysyk.

And I have a last name where people routinely add a "c", so I consider myself to be the resident authority on what happened here to Dave. And your name is 11, so of course it looks the same when flipped upside down.

Stop cutting in line and save it for thursday.

There's cap recapture if the structure of the contract requires it, but that's it. The Devils still have minimal amounts for Kovalchuk through 2025.
-
There's no way that they're running events like that through the team's equipment guy. Why waste his time on something that is not intended for a game? Some stiff in promotions is probably running that stuff. They outsource the jerseys to whatever company it is and then don't bother to open the box until the day of the event. That's not the only person who didn't bother to check it as I'm willing to bet that Dave didn't either.
-
Because they've already allowed other teams to do the same, like us with Berglund and the Devils with Kovalchuk. I guess I'm ok with it except that the player should not be allowed to return during the life of that contract they violated. The league missed that chance though when they allowed Kovalchuk to return.
