Failed to extend? At that point he had failed to score a single goal since Lincoln was in office. And Philly only throws in Criscuolo because they have to keep their total contract count down.

And a few extra Bogosian bucks left to go. -

I think the appearance of trying to make a push will be a very good thing for the atmosphere in that locker room. Sure it's a long shot, but it's a positive message we haven't seen around these parts in a very long time. -

And you'd have to imagine that a forward will be going out at some point after this trade. -

Yes. So I'm in the "why not" camp on this one. It didn't cost us anything. -
And it seems like an analytics job is one where someone could live pretty much anywhere and still do the job. It should be easy to poach someone like that from an organization that refuses to spend.
-
And Waddell is only the GM because the organization did not want to pay anyone to do the job. Since he was already within the front office, job = his.

GDT: 2/23/20 Winnipeg @ Sabres 3pm ET, MSG & WGR550

I haven't read the thread so I have no idea if it was mentioned or not. Eichel looked like he was going to suffocate Johansson with that postgame hug. Okposo had a similar energy when he got to Johansson. There's two guys who I will never question their heart. -
Meanwhile Florida trails Carolina for the last playoff spot by 4 points. If they think the trade improves their team, they're going to make it no matter who the other team is.
-
And then some can bomb on those picks but still wind up just fine... coughcoughBostoncough.
-
And Boston was at the cap, so the relief is huge.

I wonder if Anaheim may actually need the Backes cap hit next year. Bogosian wouldn't help in that situation since his soon to be non-existant contract expires this summer.

Bogosian Signs a 1.3 Million Dollar Deal with Tampa

I was reading a Byfuglien story on TSN yesterday. At the end it mentioned that if his contract is terminated after the deadline he wouldn't be eligible to sign with a playoff rival. What's the rule there, you're ineligible for the playoffs if your contract is terminated that late in the year? -
I wonder what that does to Jacksonville. Will they have their two home games in London and then also have a neutral site. I'm sure the last thing that owner wants is to be forced to play 8 games in Jacksonville. And 16 is a lot of neutral site games. I'll be curious to see how many sites they choose. They could give London the equivalent of a full season now, but I'm sure they want to spread them around a bit. And I hadn't thought about the "home team" in a neutral game. Does that team get anything other than calling the coin toss? I kind of wish they would just remove that element already and just assign heads to one team and tails the other. They probably get the better locker room facilities too, but who knows what those options would be at certain sites, if there is a better option.
-
And it's fixed now. It was odd because they also used that same typo in the clickable link on their home page. Apparently that's the name of a canadian tennis player.

I just saw this very minor trade on TSN. Can someone please translate this line for me:

I wasn't so great either, then I lucked my way into finding a job that worked closely with a couple of my professors from school. Do you have anyone like that who you can talk to? I'm completely convinced that the first "foot in the door" job out of college is completely about networking.
-
Are you finished with school or are you searching ahead of time?

I bet he was the mystery goalie too.

To be fair, it's a single quote pulled from an entire interview. I'm sure it fits much better when hearing the whole thing.
-
And that's the danger in twitter. Friedman could have said just about anything where those elipses are. Hell, the quote could very well be "Ristolainen's value is down from where they'd like it to be", but we get to cut up the quote to present whatever message we'd like.

It's all a part of baseball's evil scheme to finally throw significant punishments at pitchers who intentionally throw at batters. I love all the outrage from certain players who say the Astros were messing with their careers and livelihood. And throwing a 95 mph fastball at someone's head doesn't? The door's open to salvage something from this, baseball.

That's assuming they could have moved him for a second line center earlier. I'm not so sure that I believe that one.
