Were it next season already, not convinced Ellis would be ahead of Levi. But he's 1 year older than Devon and he has to go through waivers to get sent down and at present Levi doesn't. Next year, they both need to clear to go down. At least 1 of the 4, and possibly 2 of the heads of the 4 headed goalie monster, will be joining Georgiev on a bus out of the Sabrehood next year.

I don't blame Levi. They have 3 guys ahead of him now, one of which was plucked from another organizations AHL squad. If he orchestrates his way out of the Sabres organization then best of luck to him.

Levi isn't 6'5" tall and 225 like UPL. This Sabres braintrust really, REALLY like size in goalies. Its like....if you are on the 'smallish' size as a goalie, you need to prove it to them, then prove it again, then put up great numbers again and again and maybe you'll get your shot. But if you are BIG, "just go in the net, its yours to lose" despite your numbers. With that said, very small sample size for Levi, but what I have seen hasn't been all that impressive.

How? When do you hold yourself accountable for having worse numbers and looking LESS prepared instead of more every time you got a chance? If he showed literally ANYTHING at the NHL level he would have been here already. He hasn't. In fact, he keeps getting worse. The only person he should be mad at is himself for not taking the opportunity and running with it but instead choking every time he gets the chance. An .878 and 4.12 last year and he is mad? Are you fooking serious? Dude, kick rocks. How about earning your job instead of expecting it to be handed to you like a welfare recipient?

If I were Levi, I'd be upset. UPL got parachuted into the NHL with sub-par AHL numbers and has by and large sucked in the NHL, whereas Levi has always done well in the AHL but he has had far fewer chances on a far shorter leash in the NHL.

While the accuracy of the claim can be questioned, It’s certainly plausible. I have no way of knowing if Peters has valid inside info, or if he’s chasing clicks. I like to give someone the benefit of the benefit of the doubt until shown otherwise. While I do think Levi has been given every opportunity and has failed to grasp the chance, I can def see where Levi might think he hasn’t been given a fair chance. Levi’s AHL numbers are really solid. UPL has been disappointing in general. Signing Lyon, a journeyman, had to feel like Levi wasn’t going to be considered. I can’t imagine there would be much value in Levi around the league. It sure would suck if the primary target in the Reinhart trade turns out to be worth a mid round pick or something.

I always ask myself, is this really a possibility? And it definitely is. Did you not find it strange that we claimed Ellis off waivers instead of giving Levi the extra games?

I know someone that bought tickets that included the jersey. They ordered a Medium, X Large and XXL. The medium was marked correctly on the tag, but was same size as the XXL jersey Absolutely! You know it’s a bad call when it leads to a goal in a completely different game! 😉

Is it me or are young players just throwing small fits when they get what they don’t want? Another reason to hold on to Ellis (or could be the reason we claimed Ellis).

It's more than just line shuffling because of injuries. NOT ENOUGH TALENT on top 6..the same reason for the last dozen years! Build a team around Tage Thompson? Really? Tage Thompson? Nice try. Tage is a solid support piece, but if he is the STAR forward.....that's telling. The way the Sabres are built, every line needs to play like a fourth line...forget the pretty finesse stuff, just crash the net and get physical. They obviously don't have enough skill players up front and not enough toughness on the backend.

My major concern going in was which team could chase the other’s starter and get to each other’s weak bullpen. I’m shocked but not surprised that the Jays have done just that with the exception of Yamamoto. If they chase Snell again tonight, I like their chances to win one of two back home.
