  1. Past hour
  2. Power can if he wants to. He has the tools and the skills His desire and commitment are the unknowns. Samuelson proved his desire and commitment this past offseason. Leadership by example. Power? Your turn?
  3. Heck, icing is a judgement call. They intentionally haven't gone to full no-touch icing which would remove that need for linesmen to exercise their judgement. What you seem to be arguing is that a rare play that could lead to additional offense should not be allowed because a significantly rarer play might require a linesman, who presumably was hired for good judgement, good powers of observation, and an ability to get to where he needs to be when he needs to be there in one of the fastest sports known to man, to demonstrate that good judgement. Is that your point? A lot of items to dislike about the current rules of the game. IMHO, this is not one of them.
  4. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/video/kevyn-adams-4-19-23-343685944 This is Adams's season ender in 2023. Start just before the 7 minute mark. Adams makes clear that ending the drought, making the playoffs, success in the short-term, is at best a corporate stretch-target. It was the beginning of the end for Adams. The future is on hold until there is a new GM.
  5. Glad I missed it by the sounds of it
  6. IMHO it stems from not owning the drought. Seriously these guys, most of them anyway, withdrew the stick salute bc of booing. Kesselring misunderstands the booing as a normal hockey market. It's the drought, dummies.
  7. I think that is fair. However tall skinny kids take time. See Tage. It takes longer to pack on lbs and strength and figure out how to use their body. If he ever does, he could be an elite D.
  8. The owner, front office, and coaches aside, this is the most serious indictment of this team, imo. Desire is all on the players. It is unfathomable.
  9. Some folks like it.
  10. Owen Power is a decent #3 defender who can run your #1 pp and can play 20 mins a night without hurting you much. He's solid defensively but bad along the walls. His passing is very good. He's never going to be a guy who uses his body to leverage positions or move players. He's never going to be aggressive enough at the blueline. Power is a good player, he's not gonna be an elite player.
  11. I get that but it also creates a weird situation if a skater loses contact with the puck while dragging the lock behind them. Then it becomes a judgment call. Is the puck under control or not?
  12. Today
  13. No he won't.
  14. It for sure is frustrating.
  15. I don't think I can put up with a couple of more years of watchign Power float around, not hitting anyone, barely playing defense, I just don't think I can do it.
  16. Um, for me its a thought. "I" never thought of it. It never entered my mind that it was done on Wed of this week. So yeah, I'm not speaking for the board as a whole I am speaking for myself. I don't now what else is the definition of a 'thought'...when in this case i simply said I did not have one about the topic.
  17. It’s not a thought, it’s something that has actually been sone for years on this board.
  18. In my opinion Power’s greatest issues come from pace of play and not being able to slow the game down mentally enough. He has shown himself capable of doing things that young defensemen typically struggle with, particularly as spacing is concerned, but he’s still getting turned around in the defensive zone. I think NHL GMs recognize this and still value him as a piece with immense upside. If that’s the case, which is might not be, then he should be able to command a significant trade package, or at least a Will Smith caliber player. With Tuch likely leaving, we need to add more to the offense. On top of that, I’m also tired of waiting. If Power becomes great elsewhere and whomever we acquire is a strong piece that can help us on a deep run then it’s a win-win.
  19. All the homeless coming in on holidays to get some food. My complaint is not them, it's the society we have built to make that the norm.
  20. No, never thought of it.
  21. Before injuries, we saw Muel sort of do this... Healthy now, we are seeing it again. With Power, not once was he ever a good Defensive DMan.. So no, I don't think power needs more time... He needs a new team. Get what you can once a decent GM is in place.
  22. Defensemen take time. A couple more years in the weight room and Power becomes a man and finds his edge, we would look like fools trading him now. Sure it is possible he never gets there, but you are looking at a 1 year transformation for Mule who was largely dismissed by this board, and Power couldn’t do the same?.
  23. 5 points to tie for 8th spot. They need 6 to gain the 8th spot. But, its good to see you in a hopeful and positive mood on Thanksgiving.
  24. Why do you think this? And if he does become better in two seasons than Muel is right in now then why would you even think of moving him? He will finally be worthy of his contract.
  25. You’ve been around here for over 10 years and never realized that we typically do complaint Wednesday this one week of the year?
  26. Only five points back. Aaaaaaand just nine points out of first in the conference. They can cut that deficit with the Devs to seven tomorrow. And they will. NJ will be traveling day of game?
  27. You are essentially saying what I said. They need to starting winning at a 2 of 3 pace.
