You have Helly on the road, and Scheifele dealing with his burden. Maybe The Peg can do it? Peg, it will come back to you.

I wouldn’t say bust but he was looking like 3rd line skill level player. Now he is in his prime years and on a team that can best utilize what he can bring. You can see he brings elements of strength, will, perseverance, grit, toughness, and skill. He shows up in big games and he defends his teammates against anyone. I want him on the Sabres someday. He is a throwback player IMO.

Jared Spurgeon if Minnesota wishes to get younger with Byram; smaller RHD but plays dirty and has 1D experience. M-NTC of 10 Teams Alex Pietrangelo if Vegas does one of their random clearance sales on older vets; may help them garner cap space to re-sign Eichel thus keeping him out West. 1D experienced RHD in a similar slowing down part of his career. Full NMC though Looking for that Teppo Numminen type for the back end. Ekblad would be a nice conciliation prize but I fear his ask; the other 2 are 2 years left. Ekblad is already 29 going on 30. Forwards are a bit more of a headscratchers as I have a type of player I'm looking for but unsure who should be jettisoned to do so. Additionally I wish to extend Tuch -
Can Helly have one good road game. His team too. Will be interesting to see.

I'm jealous of the west coasters who are fans of east coast teams. 10AM football sounds really nice. Practically have the whole day left over if you need it, and late games aren't nearly as late.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch

Andor has a very interesting structure. They do 2-3 episode blocks and then the story goes off to a completely different place. So you missed the next stop. I really don’t remember what order things went in the first season. But with the second, the first few were pretty boring but then it’s balls to the wall the rest of the way. -

With most of the Star wars stuff, Marvel stuff too, I watch almost all the movies and I give every single series/show 2-3 episodes to decide whether I want to watch the whole thing or not. Andor just wasn't for me. I watched the very first episode, It really did nothing for me. We gave it 2 more, after 3 episodes I gave up. Nothing, just didn't draw me in at all. I guess it just shows why people have different tastes in entertainment. -

I have two episodes left. It picked up really well after the wedding. -
You make a insightful point in your description of the Bryson re-signing of the one dimensional thinking our GM exercises when making player and contract decisions. He seems to lack the big picture vision that involves balancing the present and future needs. He’s a checkers player playing in a big stakes chess match. He’s an earnest fellow who is simply overmatched with the multi-faceted job he is in. The owner is the person who created this fiasco. What makes this situation even worse is that our owner is a stubborn rich fellow who is reluctant to acknowledge his mistakes. When the person driving the misdirected bus has an attitude that when lost, continue on and hope that eventually you will get back on track. Such a ridiculous situation!

Bennett, and Jeannot would be a dream off-season. Money would definitely have to be moved out though. Would love Ekblad but I imagine too pricey. Schneider or Whitecloud would be nice. -

The other guy I'm liking off Florida is Samoskevich, but he's not an offer sheetable RFA this offseason I don't think. Still, they're cap-strapped if they resign Bennett and Ekblad, which means maybe you could target them with a trade. -

He was waived this season, but Columbus started just a bit worse than Buffalo. If Buffalo put a claim in, the Jackets got him anyway. (But I doubt the Sabres put a claim in because they had Jokiharju, Bryson, Clifton all already on the roster.) But he was great this season allowing Werenski to play loose and free in his return from injury. I don't think Columbus lets him go. Which could shake loose Provorov. -
I think Johnson is still waivers exempt all next season unless he plays a bunch of NHL games. But the issue is, why so concerned with losing Bryson? He's fine as a #7-8 if your top 6 is all set and filled with in-their-prime guys and studs. But Bryson is the oldest-in-his-prime of the group not named Clifton (who is on an expiring contract next year) and Bryson has the lowest ceiling of any of their NHL/AHL D-men. Back to the thread at hand, the cool thing about this series is if the Amerks win it, they could be Calder Cup favorites the rest of the way. Laval was no pushover this season and has their Habs reinforcements.
-
Jeannot is interesting, he brings needed toughness. We probably have to overpay, but he still might be cheap enough. Brian Rust is a player I like. If there are plans on playing both Thompson and Norris as C we need another RW. Schneider is a on top of my list of D, he is a perfect partner for Power imo. Zach Whitecload is the other D I think they should target. My big off season prediction is Marner to Vegas, and they need to clear space to make that happen.

Wasn't Fabbro waived 2yrs ago and Adams didn't bother?
-
It's why the pre-re-signing of Bryson doesn't make sense. Bryson should get beaten out in camp by R Johnson for the 7th/8th D and waive Bryson. No loss, no foul. He'll pass waivers to the Amerks because everyone's waiving their 8th D at that time of year (barring one team with a boatload of preseason injuries). But... because Bryson is already extended, it leads one to believe that Adams is willing to let Johnson be offer sheeted (at the no compensation level), OR just sign the qualifying offer. But if Johnson gets waived, he's much more likely to get snared than Bryson.

Might be... If any of them make it to UFA: Bennett, Gavrikov, Ekblad, Fabbro, Mangiapane, Frederic, Dumoulin, Rutta, Jeannot, Nosek. One more experienced playoff guy who has played on the right teams and knows how to be a punk. (and Fabbro as a potential 2nd-pair RHD) -
I keep thinking about how much Cuylle and Schneider would help this team since you mentioned them earlier. The Rangers are going to lose some players one way or the other. Would love for the Sabres to be the benefactors of the Rangers cap predicament. And Demko would be a big upgrade over UPL. Wonder what we would have to offer just to get them to listen.

So you're mad that AHL teams roster more veterans than Rochester? Also as others note, they beat quite a few of those teams in playoffs. That story he's shopping is a myth. I'm ***** floored anyone is arguing the Sabres org should roster a more veteran AHL squad so they can win there when they win there.
-
I mean, I'm interested in upping the veteran and hard-to-play-against quotient of our top 9. Rossi in, Quinn out does that. But I'm not sure Rossi in Peterka out or Norris out does that. I sorta feel like Rossi might be too much of the same. I like the player.
-
This article indicates Rossi is out because the GM wants size over producing. These are the types of gms you find ways to target, feed their bias. https://hockeywilderness.com/news-rumors/minnesota-wild/the-wild-are-letting-the-tail-wag-the-dog-with-marco-rossi-r30708/

Sabres looking for Senior Advisor for Adams and Hockey Department
DarthEbriate replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
In my experience, there's no such thing as luck. With the Sabres, everything is deservedly unearned. -
Except exactly the opposite happened this year against bigger, tougher and more veteran Syracuse. Last year they lost in the 5th and deciding game against bigger, tougher and more veteran Syracuse, two years ago they won in the 5th and deciding game against bigger, tougher and more veteran Syracuse. They then beat a more veteran Marlies team, then lost in the final 4 to a more veteran Hershey team, although I'm not sure either of those teams were actually bigger and tougher. Three years ago, they beat Belleville and Utica teams that tried to goon it up, then lost a smaller, more skilled and more veteran team in Laval in the 3rd round. It's not been as neat and tidy and obvious as your story suggests.
