  1. Past hour
  2. They should but the question is why would the Sabres look to move away from that unless he not a team player/and or unwilling to stay here? And if we do move on from him how to we replace him and improve the team at the same time? Yes, it likely going to take more than 1 move hence my suggestion in getting after EP40 after moving JJP for a RHD Dman on a low salary but still a RFA after this salary runs out, a prospect and hopefully a pick we can flip for a forward that is arguably better than JJP.
  3. Now is the time to do it with Ruff in the building. Ruff/Jarmo v Pegula/Adams stands a chance. But Jarmo will lose that alone 100 times out of 100. And according to the article, it sounds as though it has been Pegula/Adams vs the world since Pegula bought the team.
  4. They owe it all to advertising.
  5. The Mexican Navy ship looks like something from the Spanish Armada.
  6. Arent't the Sabres still paying Skinner? So...we can say a current Sabre (employee) is playing for the cup?? Does that count?? šŸ¤”
  7. In a vacuum, I would be excited for a Robertson acquisition. I’m not sure it would be a slam-dunk though. Robertson’s production and defensive metrics have been produced while playing almost exclusively with one of the best two-way centres in the NHL (Hintz), on one of the league’s top 5 teams, under elite head coaches (Bowness, then DeBoer). I would not go so far as to say he is fully a product of his environment (clearly he is talented), but we might be trading for a 70 point winger whose great two-way metrics were driven by his centre and team structure.
  8. I guess I am expecting more from voters/hockey writers. I would have thought the season that Tuch had would get him top 5 in votes.
  9. Robertson is such an Adams target as far as checking boxes. He needs a win now producer, who also plays a two way game in their prime. This is NOT only an obvious hope for Sabres fans, it's an obvious choice for that blithering idiot with the GM hat on.
  10. Here's hoping Skinner can win a cup. As well as McDavid/Draisaitl, who are deserving of their chance to hoist the cup. In addititon, it's long time a Canadian market that isn't Toronto wins a cup. I never want to see that happen. Our new Jeff Skinner is Josh Norris. Though he's more injury prone.
  11. A Wimer Skoog sighting? That name always cracked me up.
  12. Because he's in the media center of the hockey universe and Tuch plays for a team that is simply bad, not absolute bottom of the league bad, and nobody bothers thinking about anybody on that team when it comes time for end of the season awards. The voters remember Matthews name because he's talked about quite a bit. When's the last time any of them gave any thought to Alex Tuch? Most likely is was the last time the Loafs played in Buffalo. And he was forgotten as quickly as TO left the rink. How was Ovechkin voted into the end of season All Star team as both a LW and a RW one year?
  13. Since Brandon and Berchtold got shown the door, they've been pretty tight lipped at 1BD and SHKIIIP. And with players & staff (at those that haven't been canned by teams not afraid to can people in the front office/hockey departments) and staff still under contract until the end of this month, there aren't a lot of sources besides player agents to be dropping names. It isn't likely a rival GM is going to be too aggressive saying they're interested in a particular player when he's under contract to another team unless a deal is imminent; tampering provisions and all.
  14. Today
  15. Jeff Skinner, the person does not bother me. I certainly don’t root against him or any team he plays on. Just glad he’s not wasting a roster spot on this team (I know how worse off would they be with him). I’m hoping McDavid gets his cup. Been a long time coming.
  16. I’ll hold out hope until I see what paltry return some hated team of ours gives for Robertson, Rossi and the like. ā˜¹ļø Also, what a perfect way to slide into Boliva (Tyson reference for old heads like me). He can go from the hockey media capital of the world to a place that needs icing explained every game.
  17. Deep in Ex Sabres. Asplund, Criscuolo, and CJ Smith. šŸ™‚. There is not a lot of young talent on that team. Just a bunch of AHL vets backed by a goaltender who has played 140 NHL games.
  18. They rarely are though. We didn't hear any McLeod news until it happened. There were Cozens rumors but I feel like it was 24hrs before when it sounded like names were out there in terms of Norris and Cozens.
  19. I am surprised at some of the names getting votes. How does Mathews get more Selke votes than Tuch?
  20. Still discouraging as I haven’t heard the Sabres mentioned in any rumor, as fleeting as they may be.
  21. Elite Prospects draft guide!!!!!
  22. I have zero doubt that Utah will make the playoffs before Buffalo
  23. Absolutely. And much more potential than Norris. JJP can learn defense. Norris 239 GP in 6 seasons. (158 points) Peterka 238 GP and he's only 23 and... no major injuries, his minimum GP in a full season is 77. (150 points).
  24. JJ Peterka just put up his 2nd 27g season and had 68pts as a 23yr old. I think teams thinking they can sign that long term for 7ish would be excited.
  25. I may be wrong, but I think Peterka holds far more value than Norris. Peterka, I think, is viewed as a potential star scoring winger (he is practically that already). Norris would be viewed as a huge injury risk with an enormous contract.
  26. Elite Prospects has released the best draft guide. Worth all 1,000 pages.
