We are fans of the team for crissake, not strategists for it. By all means, be as cynical as you’d like as is your every right to be and there is certainly good reason for it. But there’s no need to begrudge the hope of others, especially at the dawn of a new season. Don’t look now, but the Sabres are tied for first overall in the league standings.

You've done this before and it is deliberately deceiving. Kesselring was on the 1st pair for Utah for half the season. The reason his toi isn't higher is because he was sparingly used on their pp. Utah has 2 rhd they are paying a bunch of money too, so when they came back, Kesselring slid. It would be like arguing that Power isn't X because toi but ignoring we have Dahlin. My point is you keep making this toi argument and it makes no sense especially when he's gonna see it go up what? 2-3 min here? He's not gonna be on the pp. He'll be on the pk. When they need to score late, they'll run Dahlin with Byram or Power. Power toi last year was 21:09. That's 3 or 4 more shifts. Kesserling is also older than Samuelsson, Byram, Power.

We know exactly how our goaltending will hold up. It won't.

Adams is seriously delusional about his D group. He has 1 proven elite all around D in Dahlin He has two O skilled young D who are allergic to playing defense in Power and Byram. He has a large injury prone defender named Samuelsson who was hoped to become a defensive stalwart but also can’t play consistently in zone defense. He is like Risto but without the scoring. He has a young possibly solid all around D who may or may not be able to jump from being a 3rd pair guy to a 2nd pair guy in Kesselring. Remember, despite filling in at times on the 2nd pair for Utah, he only average 17:30 a night. And then there is Timmins. He is not some defensive stalwart. In fact he has basically been an injury replacement 7th D most of his career. Last season was his first “full time” NHL season; he played 68 games. His previous career high was 31. His Fenwick and Corsi were negative last year and when Tor needed D help for the playoffs Timmins was traded to Pittsburgh. The only elite aspect of this D is Dahlin and his ability to elevate his playing partner. That gives us one good pair. After that we are asking Power and Samuelson to finally play defense or a least not be a liability defensively like they have been for the last 2 seasons. We are asking Kesselring to jump to 22-23 minutes a night and cover up Power inept defense. We also asking Timmins to build on his full time season, help hold down the 3rd pair and to try to be at least average defensively. This is too tall an order for this group. I have hope for Kesselring, but worry Power’s inept play will hurt Kesselring’s play at both ends. I have zero faith in Ssmuelsson staying healthy enough to play a full season and the depth behind him of Timmins, Bryson and Jones doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. I’d rather see one of big Russians come up instead of crappy depth.

I wouldn’t allow yourself to be gaslighted, I’m sorry. There’s nothing wrong with being reflective of the team. You put more effort into it than they do - why shouldn’t you call them out for what they actually are. The actual detrimental fear is him getting an extension cause he made it once in 6 years

People are quite very far down the rabbit hole of how unusual this team and its results have been We finished with 79 points after sitting near last most of year, trending down 2 years in a row, after failing to make it 5 straight on top of a full decade before that, and after last offseason the narrative was “heads will roll!” if we miss and we missed by a ton and every single management and coaching piece was brought back and we didn’t spend to the cap again and it’s like…”what, you dont like Danforth?” just save it, like seriously did they do enough? No. Did they do right by the fans? Hell no. Will we make the playoffs? Maybe. It’s not hard to make the playoffs

Don’t disagree with your take on Adams at all but you know as well as anyone on this board that after the top three to five goalies, no one can predict from year to year what’s going to happen. It’s the state of goaltending in the NHL. Since we brought up gambling, I’ll bet if you read the message board of every team in the league, twenty five have no idea how their goaltending is going to hold up,

I was also disappointed with the lack of activity coming off of last season. I was hoping for a second-line forward add. Our listless GM hired by the spynx owner unsurprisingly kept with his low pace for change. The harsh reality is that this is a Pegula owned and operated team. You then get what he wants to give you. You have to be real enough to adjust your expectations to this dismal hockey world. Sometimes a degree of cynicism is appropriate coping with an uncomfortable reality. However, when the level of cynicism gets too overwhelming it is time to take a break instead of being overwhelmed by it. Masochism is self-inflicted.

If the Sabres had league average gt, sure. They have Adams basement gt. Levi didn't immediately hit and UPL turned back into a pumpkin so Adams has no other idea or plan. He's unimaginative, not aggressive, and boring.

Back to challenge cup action at the Braehead Arena. Dundee Stars were the visitors. In a very sabres like performance the Clan found themselves 3 down early on. Clan kept at it and managed to tie the game at 5 a piece with less than two minutes to play. Former Moose jaw warrior, and solar bear forward Tristan Langan stepped up in OT to finish off a hat trick and MOTM performance. Highlights to follow.

This is horrible. So glad she got a new heart and hopefully can live a good life for decades. A relative of mine had a heart transplantation about two decades ago. He was in his twenties then. Today he has three kids and goes to work every day. So let's just hope for a similar scenario for Carolina and Rasmus. And have to say, Rasmus seem very committed to have success with this team showing up ready on training camp after all that.

Then we will be limbo with Kekalainen likely acting GM to the end of the year at which point Lindy will resign as coach and be named Senior Advisor and Jarmo will become GM. Terry Pegula will remain as director of hockey operations though so nothing will change and Seth Appert will even possibly be named head coach. Unless they suck even worse than expected and then Appert will be named head coach this season and firings will be sooner.

The best part of the tiwtter algorithm is it shows the person exactly what they WANT to see. So people like our friend above wants to see Violence and hate so ywitter shows him posts about that exact subject. It gives you want you want and since MAGA are violent people who feed off of this stuff it's what twitter gives them. Posting the same violent tweets shows me the type of information they are being fed b.c the algorithm gives the person what they WANT. It matches the person to the type of tweets they would enjoy to see. So if you are a hateful violent loving human you will get this type of stuff.
