Yet Another Example of Fascist Behavior
Hank replied to K-9's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
I completely agree with you. One minor quibble - according to local NBC DC police is under internal investigation for altering their crime stats. I'm with you on Trump hammering blue states because he's petty. “When our members respond to the scene of a felony offense where there is a victim reporting that a felony occurred, inevitably there will be a lieutenant or a captain that will show up on that scene and direct those members to take a report for a lesser offense,” Fraternal Order of Police Chairman Gregg Pemberton said. “So, instead of taking a report for a shooting or a stabbing or a carjacking, they will order that officer to take a report for a theft or an injured person to the hospital or a felony assault, which is not the same type of classification.” The police department's command staff is focusing on two categories in order to get the numbers to fall, Pemberton said: armed with a dangerous weapon and injured person to the hospital. “When management officials are directing officers to take reports for felony assault, or if they're going back into police databases and changing offenses to felony assault, felony assault is not a category of crime that's listed on the department's daily crime stats,” Pemberton said. “It's also not something that's a requirement of the FBI's uniform crime reporting program. So, by changing criminal offenses from, for example, ADW bat or ADW gun to felony assault, that would avoid both the MPD and the FBI from reporting that as a part one or a felony offense.” https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/dc-police-commander-suspended-crime-statistics/3959566/ -

Yet Another Example of Fascist Behavior

Here’s a list of 30 cities with at least 100k people with the highest number of crimes against people per 100,000. DC is nowhere on the list. Meanwhile, 18 of the 30 are in red states. Does anyone think our fascist in chief will deploy military and federal agents as municipal police forces in any of those cities? Not a phucking chance. Trump wants to punish blue states and blue states only, especially the low-income folks he railed against at that travesty of a presser on Monday when he announced his decision on DC. https://www.newsweek.com/most-dangerous-cities-trump-washington-dc-2112006 -

Calling the riots "disinformation" is dishonest. -

People like to scream MAGA!!!! Trump has his base, but it's not big enough to swing the election. On November 5th did every swing state not have more registered democrats than Republicans? Enough of them either voted for Trump or didn't care enough to vote at all, that's the uncomfortable truth. - Yesterday

You're clearly triggered. I asked a few follow up questions on your position. That's all, there is no "gotcha" coming. I disagree on your take. I don't have big smoking gun though which you implied a few times. -

Good question, you should ask one. -
I feel like every team is going to hire the broadcast crew across all three leagues. Maybe not in the biggest of markets, but these broadcast exist specifically for the teams.

Why are Republicans hell bent on fascism? I asked a simple question. Calling what was happening in LA "riots" is disinformation. Under that pretense, Trump can deploy the US Military anywhere on US soil for anything. -
Sabres Hire Brian Maas as New Broadcast Producer

By making them employees they can control the messaging so the organization and players don’t get criticized. It’s fortunate that there are still some local reporters like Hamilton and Harrington who are willing to give objective analysis. -

Protest? No. Riots? Only when local law enforcement refuses to. I'm guessing Trump's decision in LA was influenced by the democratic leadership in Portland allowing antifa to riot for, what was it, over three months straight? Does anything Trump does surprise you? Me neither. So why were democrats stupid enough to put him into office a second time? -
Good question. Pretty sure that tradition goes back to Ted Darling having the opportunity to either be a Channel 7 (IIRC) or a Sabre employee when they got the broadcast contract. He decided to stay with the Sabres so that should Channel 2 get the contract back (or it go to 4 or even 29) he'd still be the voice of the Sabres rather than switching to local sports or Dave Thomas' replacement.

What are you trying to do? Are you looking for a "gotcha" moment? In the post you quoted i clearly stated I supported a military presence to quell the riots in LA. I also clearly questioned the legality of it. -

Do you support deploying armed US military personnel for domestic law enforcement operations? Do you support deploying armed US military personnel to put down protests that are in opposition to the POTUS? -

@SDS, did you plan to renew this league or let it fizzle out?
-
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo. Unprotected first definitely nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I'm only talking about him as a possible temporary fit if Boston is looking to ditch him. Maybe a 2nd but really a couple 3rds or less to take on the contract. The rumor of his availability seems greatly exaggerated anyway. Dog days of summer and all that. I'd give them Rosen though if they wanted that.

I find it weird that the team hires the tv crew. I wonder if that happens in any other market. I really don’t know.

There's disinformation in here. But just to clarify you support sending in armed US military personnel to deal with domestic law enforcement issues? You support the Potus at any point sending the military to US soil to do... anything the potus orders? -

I like Duff. I'm not sold on Dunleavy. But Duff is fine.

To answer the OP question, they traded for him so they obviously plan on getting him healthy and playing him. End of story.
