  1. Past hour
  2. The implication was he's going home to stay with his parents for the summer and doesn't expect to come back,. Why leave your stuff and keep the lease when you've been led to believe you're going to be traded? Not saying you're wrong, just passing along the counter-argument. I got the impression Rivet got an info dump from over the weekend from someone he thinks might know things and was sharing what he's been told. As @Flashsabre said, the other tidbit was Quinn being shopped.
  3. Really hope Pettersson isn't this off-season's prize acquisition. Not that it's for certain that he can't get back to the form that got him that mega contract. Just because, THIS particular crew hasn't shown itself to be smarter than everybody else at this point, and THEM being the ones to say "we can fix him" when nobody else will do so doesn't exactly put forth the warm and fuzzies nor inspire confidence that they'll be right. Now if Bill Zito makes that trade, look out, it might just work. But lately, he HAS been smarter than most everybody else.
  4. Personally will be a bit miffed if Byram is traded for another guy younger than himself. Because that was the biggest part of hating the Mittelstadt trade; we watched Mitts go through all the growing pains and once he was finally useful the Sabres traded him away for a guy that wasn't going to be REALLY useful for at least another 2 seasons. Well, we've made it through 1-1/2 of those seasons and now lets trade him in for a shinier model. As you say, it makes no sense if the goal is to win. IF the story of Byram packing up to move away is true; either management has told him he's on the way out (which would seem to be counter to getting the best deal for him) or as with Mitts they haven't talked contract with him at all (which would seem to run counter to Adams' mantra of "honest conversations). The off-season of hope is quickly dwindling away and there's still 8 teams that haven't reached the off-season. Oy vey.
  5. I really think Adams will try to reverse the Eichel trade by buying low on the depreciated 1st-line centre asset that is Elias Pettersson. It just fits. I just hope it's going to be for an Eichel-like price (Norris, Östlund, '26 1st?), not something stupid like Byram, Norris and #9
  6. The buffoon would probably offer him a lifetime contract and a 10% stake in the team.
  7. Good point. Thinking about it a bit. Why would he (a guy who is an RFA this summer) already be packing his house up to move to a different city AT THIS POINT IN TIME. The draft is still more than a month away and FA doesn't begin until July 1. Personally can't believe that Adams will trade Byram at ALL costs especially if Byram is proclaiming he wants to be here (unlike a certain injured at the time C). Fully believe could be and to a large extent do expect he'll be traded. But the timing of this "announcement" seems to be amiss and more for clickbait on the day they've said that Adams is staying put in his current role.
  8. This news that Adams etc. are all coming back is not unexpected. It was in fact predicted, but I wanted to be wrong and surprised with something positive. Now I really don't give a crap any more. Garbage franchise.
  9. …and those talking heads would be 100% correct.
  10. Well ya, their strength and conditioning was garbage but there's too many young skinny pups on this roster and that's the real problem. I'm sure Ruff was pissed at the state of their conditioning but this move is nothing of any real value. The players should be bulking already in junior and in the AHL. The whole development system is badly run.
  11. This would prove exactly what I said (and I wasn't alone) at the time of the deal. They didn't want to pay Mitts what he wanted so they kicked it down the road with a different RFA and now they don't want to pay him and will kick it down the road with another one. I'm not upset with trading Byram (assuming this is real). I'm pissed we traded for him in the first place. Not cause I liked Mitts all that much, but because none of this makes sense if you are trying to win. Cause you're not.
  12. What happens if the sabres make the playoffs this coming year? We will likely be talking about a kevyn adams extension 😆
  13. What is the position of weakness? Why does Adams have to take a ***** offer? Why will the offers be *****? Are 23-year-old 40-point defencemen a dime a dozen in the NHL? He had career numbers offensively and defensively and shook off the injury concerns. Personally, if Byram's value was a 25-year-old RFA 60-point centre a year ago, I can't imagine it is any less than that now.
  14. I cannot think of anything heavy and comparable since this, way back in 2006
  15. I agree with this assessment after 24-25, but I think Power’s ceiling is higher. Is Dobson going to A) cost less than Byram, and B) different than Power? His PPG is slightly less, but is he a huge defensive upgrade where it makes perfect sense?
  16. Peters called Rivet out for exactly this.
  17. Highly possible and then I can see Adams not being able to pass up Mrtka's height at 9 thinking there's his Power partner Samuelsson replacement even though in reality Mrtka is (I would guess) 3 years away minimum if you want to develop him properly. I would be very happy with Bear at 9 but very little in Sabreland makes me happy any more. No, we've won it twice. Sabres are so inept the league should consider penalizing them for it and not letting them have any more top 10 picks. If you can't win with this number of picks we've had we don't deserve any.
  18. On Vancouver radio this morning they talked briefly about the news Adams was staying, shook their heads in amazement, and proceeded to say Adams should be targeted by the Canucks as a stupid and desperate GM who could be taken advantage of.
  19. Aren't these guys wrong more than they are right ? How believable is this, I watched when they started their podcast few years ago, but will see I guess. For all we know he is moving to a different house in Buffalo 🤣
  20. To this point, everyone in the league understands that Buffalo is once again dealing from a position of weakness....so GMKA won't get much in return if he does try to move Byrum via trade. The amount of low ball offers will be numerous and Howdy Doody will have to take the best of the crap any team will offer.
  21. I think so, even back to the eichel and reinhart trades. I just wish trading was easier in the nhl overall, it would help us get better faster. As for Norris....I think moving on from Cozens alone was a plus sadly.
  22. Maybe he made nice trades but other factors held the team back; coaching, goaltending, injuries
  23. His trade record is decent? How many times have we been to the playoffs in 5 years? Can't be that decent. I do like McLeod and Greenway but other than that I could live without Byram, I thought he was good with Dahlin but pretty average without him. The Josh Norris trade is looking shakey already as he was re-injured 3 games after we traded for him and was already injury prone before that.
  24. Today
  25. Yes... The whole team for that matter. Less so with Power than the other two though.
  26. Yesterday
  27. If you're looking at asset value, kevyn got more value here compared to keeping mittelstadt. And his trade record actually is pretty decent, despite all of the doom and gloom in this fanbase.
