You forgot Zucker. 75% of the fowards are 3rd or 4th liners.
-
If they resign JBD and Byram we are looking at something like: Dahlin Byram Power Kesserling JBD Timmins I could be wrong since I don't know much about Timmins and all I know about Kesserling is he does hit and what people on here have said. If Timmins is in the starting lineup I can't wait for a @Doohickie meme if/when he scores. I hope its Timmy from South Park.
-
How much time did he miss to injury last year? Could there be bonuses that wouldn't be a part of the QO? But still, you think you'd go through the formality of the offer, but who knows. Like I said, they didn't qualify Bryson last year and I feel like they did something the year before too, but I can't find that info. There must be some reason for not qualifying someone and then still bringing them back. I know you can lower the numbers, but like you said, this is a small contract already.

Meanwhile, the inexplicable and the dumb are completely in their wheelhouse.

Radim Mrtka, 6'6" RHD drafted 9th overall by Sabres

Can you link his comments please? -
Florida making a serious run at three in a row.
-
Cuz one team is a perennial superbowl challenger with Josh Allen and the other team is a perennial lucky lottery winner who would die to play golf with Josh Allen. If you don’t get my reference for the last part, it’s from the lengthy tage interview recently done
-
Kisakov not getting a QO makes a ton of sense. On the surface of it, Bernard-Docker not getting one doesn't make nearly as much. Seemed to be worth at least $900k IMHO. Not sure why the Sabres would sweat the extra $60-100k unless they plan on using that in FA &/or trading for pieces that are significantly more expensive than what they currently have. And that's completely outside their MO.

Free Agent Frenzy or Feebleness, Buffalo style?

Third and fourth lines are getting kind of crowded. Greenway, McLeod, Benson, Malenstyn, Krebs, Doan, Lafferty, plus Kozak. -

He played well for the Sabres after he arrived. The only way this makes sense is if they have a deal for less than $866K that Bernard-Docker said would be acceptable to him provided nobody else beats it and if for some reason the Sabres are confident that nobody will beat that deal.

A "Lindy draft" makes no sense, even for this team. But hypothetically, if any coach -- but particularly a lame duck coach one season away from retirement -- was given control of the draft -- then every pick and prospect would've been moved to get the best team available on the ice for that year. Lindy's going out with a veteran roster and a true #1 goalie. -
JBD and Kisakov weren’t qualified JBD better be re-signed or that’s a major issue.
-
Adams just throws them around like nothing.

Provorov working on a 7x8.5mil deal with CBJ

The Sabres have a reputation for being bad. Now it has gotten to the point they will earn a reputation for being weird. Maybe the have a deal worked out????
-
A pass. We're giving Marner a HARD PASS.
-
Why Santy Claus, WHY? Per puckpedia, his QO is only $866k. If they already have a deal in place with him that they'll re-sign him to $805k again provided nobody else tries to sign him, cool, I guess. But are you REALLY going to go THAT hard after a true difference maker that you need that extra $60k in your quiver to make it all work?
-
I love it that the Bills compete with any team in the NFL on the field, in the public arena, and financially. Whereas the Sabres are in an entirely different league than the Vegas/Florida/Colorado types. Truly a farm club for the real teams.
-
Whoever holds his rights can sign him for 8 years up until the end of the day today. So if Vegas traded for him, they then had the remaining 7 or so hours today where they could give him 8 years. The 7 years thing is strictly a July 1st free agency restriction. No one can give 8 years once they hit July 1st, not even the original team.
-
6 years Adams has been here and many players still can’t wait to get out. Then he claims he only wants people that want to be here, why exactly would they want to be here?
-
Say what you will about him... but Adams never missed a QO deadline with a jammed fax machine or anything. Hasn't just let an entire RFA wave walk to market. So he's got that going for him.

Free Agent Frenzy: “Where will the greatest LWer to ever play the game, Generational Superstar Nic Ehlers sign today? Please tune in guys”
-
My understanding is that this trade was a cosmetic transaction to avoid tampering charges.
-
Well, it did and it didn't with Zucker. He was one of their best forwards last year (definitely in the top 4 or so). But the team still fell further back from the playoffs than they were either of the 2 prior years. So, on a microlevel it worked. On a macro level, at best it was too little.
