  1. Past hour
  2. Last season they were 36-32-5. That’s .527 win% This season they are 13-11-4 or .536 overall that’s .530% Without him .083 help me out, which is better. .530% or .083%? You probably thought trading Samson and Jack was a good idea too
  3. For most leagues, it is week one of the fantasy playoffs. But for Sabrespace Royal, it’s the final week of the regular season! Only four teams get into the dance and a lot will be decided today. Five Hole (11-3) is in. GraveDiggsaz (9-5) is in with a win. Currently favored against @Derrico, and stands to benefit if Derrico does not update the Higgins roster spot. CircleTheWagons (9-5) is in with a win. He’s slightly favored against Waratah’s Abandoned Trash (tip of the cap to @ExWNYer for making the team competitive and coining my new favorite name, Abandoned Trash). @pi2000 would be the last team in if the playoffs started today. @SDS would be the first team out. How juicy that they play each other this week!! Pi is the favorite with Thursday’s results in mind. Unsure if @pastajoe can sneak in via tiebreakers with a win today. That’s the other 8-6 team. You might need Pi & Scott to tie? Other folks like @JujuFish (7-7) & @Wyldnwoody44 (7-7) are playing for pride or spoiler. Demerits to @North Buffalo for not updating their lineup. Boo Hiss Good luck to all!
  4. I'm starting to get a little queasy about all this. I never wanted KA and won't miss him. But Terry has to be delighted by all the scorn directed at his GM. Seriously, all we're going to do is send KA over the Falls with Thurman's helmet and expect both curses to lift? It has to go much deeper than that. I'm almost ready to root for a win tonight to officially save KA's job. Another thing: let's say KA does get shitcanned. The team comes alive and makes the playoffs. How much credit does KA deserve? Shrooms.
  5. You didn't fully accurately read my response to @PASabreFan. I made it clear that it was evident almost from the start that Pegula was chaotically steering the franchise ship. He was constantly lurching back and forth with no foundational strategy to build upon. That's accurate. And I was an open Granato supporter. He took over for Krueger who was an unmitigated failure. Granato's talent was with working with young players. He was the right coach for young players. To be candid, I would rather have kept Granato than bring in Ruff. In my view, Granato was a scapegoat for a failed GM. He did his best with what he had to work with. I was never on board with KA. I've had scathing criticisms for him since he was bizarrely hired. And once he assumed the reins he had a publicly stated rebuild strategy to go mostly with their own drafted and develop approach. I'm not against emphasizing young players once that approach is established as policy. However, his execution has been dismal because he doesn't have the imagination and ability to successfully carry it out. I hope this clears up your misconception about my position.
  6. I'm not proposing we deal him and Kevyn for a bag of tattered jock straps.
  7. What’s their record with him?
  8. I recall Bert sticking a lit Marb in a $45 boisenberry cheesecake. ***** these new meds.
  9. Kuntar might have needed that second game to pay the bill and make a little extra dough, but I suspect in this modern era the players are more understanding.
  10. I don't recall when you started posting @JohnC but I do recall you were 100% behind the Adams/Granato re-build plan which emphasized almost exclusively young players and draft and develop. For awhile you were lock step with the Adams. It is nice that you have sympathy for him now, but this is a business, just as it was a business when he laid off a big portion of the staff.
  11. There are a ton of stories out there where the bill gets run up at the rookie dinner and then next day the vets pay the rookies back. It’s a right of passage bonding experience.
  12. I look at it like you don't even have a chance to win without him. Big difference
  13. Today
  14. Kevyn Adams will get the same amount of empathy from me for losing his job as he has had for the fans during his tenure.
  15. Kevyn got that job because he fired tons of employees during the pandemic on the Pegulas behalf after Botterill stood his ground. So no I don't have much compassion for him.
  16. As long as “Gun Show” Hoculi isn’t the head official, the Bills should win this one.
  17. We could have put a package together to make the trade. Our first is worth more than the Wild first. Then it's Byram or Power. The third piece would be a center. Maybe Kulich or Östlund. I think that is just as much as what they got from the wild. Even if the Sabres were assured about signing Hughes to a contract I don't see how it would of worked with two Alpha D men in the room. Are you taking Dahlin off the first unit power play? Not really seeing how the puzzle fits together in this case.
  18. That's so much more than Vancouver just got. Power and Byram are more established than Buium. Tuch I guess is the Rossi comparable. The 3 prospects are at or better than Ohgren. And finally you give up an unprotected 1st on the worst team in the east, all for a guy you don't even need. Cons are you're years away from contending and just trading a bunch of stuff for a 5'10" lhd who plays the same roll as Dahlin. The pros are... you made changes? Hughes is pretty good offensively?
  19. Dahlin is the type to pick up the bill
  20. The Sabres' record with Eichel and Reinhart and without was not too sterling. They got dealt and ended up with their names on the Cup, Reinhart for multiple times. The lesson to be learned is that improving the overall talent base of the team is the right course to take rather than setting yourself further back by getting rid of your best players who end up being good players on championship caliber teams.
  21. Absolutely. That goes with the territory. That doesn't mean that one can't have some compassion for someone who most likely (hopefully) will lose his job.
  22. And scouts and scouting methods and over concept of what type of team it takes to be successful in today's NHL
  23. Yep saw this. I was going to post, ‘70 curse. Hockey Guy is smhaaat.
