  1. Past hour
  2. It would have been such a small thing to just not sign Bryson and use that money to sign Gilbert or a reasonable facsimile.
  3. I get it... I read it that way... but intent is hard to gauge in text... decorated FO... I would say that you are correct here neither Polian or Marv or McD or Beane were decorated... you dont need to be... but you have alot less to prove early on if you already have the accolades... if you dont probably gonna take longer... so I will agree with you there... either way... its cool we dont agree... time will tell and I believe strongly we both hope for the same thing...
  4. I kinda look at the revised depth chart as this: Dahlin -> Dahlin Byram -> Byram Power -> Power Samuelsson -> Kesselring Jokiharju/Docker -> Samuelsson Clifton -> Timmins Bryson -> Bryson Clague -> Jones Johnson -> Johnson Novikov -> Novikov Hopefully the prospects at the bottom can push their way up into the call-up mix, but they won’t start there. Kesselring makes them better, but “good” still rests a lot on what version they get of Power and Mule.
  5. Right. Neither of the guys manning the 7/8 s are that good either. Pretty typical bottom of the roster D. So why not employ someone that brings other things to the table, i.e. toughness and size. Adams might not just be bad at his job but he might also be dense as ***** lead. I don’t criticize him as much as most do in this forum but it’s not for a lack a disdain, I’m just exhausted on the topic. This dude might be painfully stupid. It would be so easy to assemble a team this city would adore. Cater to their foundation. Get hard working, tough players. Of course you need talent. We already have Dahlin, Tage, Tuch, so fill out the roster with toughness. Stop jettisoning players like Will Borgen and Brendon Hagel. Value players with those skills. This isn’t rocket science. Build a team the community can get behind. The garbage that has patrolled the ice the last decade and a half is pathetic. You got your top of the roster players, stop employing Samuelsson and Quinn. Put actual men in those roles. My lord it isn’t that hard.
  6. I don't think you're a fool. The data proves Buffalo isn't a sought after place to live by outsiders and many insiders have left. There's no arguing that. The Bills did not hire a decorated front office. That's what I was responding to.
  7. 7-foot tall and 250 pounds defenseman has committed to play at Penn State.
  8. Agree and he probably speaks of himself in the third person when conversing with Terry
  9. I still think he is ultimately a Karmanos claim to provide Clague (and Prow/Brannstrom) replacement. The contract was simply to avoid claiming off waivers. That said, he's an RFA in 2026... which reeks of Adams and the need for team control. At least he didn't trade a 2nd for Jones' rights.
  10. Gilbert was not good at playing defense though
  11. Today
  12. I think the "KA" really needs to be in the phrase. So as to best play up his powerless martyrdom in the operation.
  13. Penn State funds would be a donation that would be a tax deduction. Some Sabres business expenses could be shuffled around and could angle for public funds for building construction and such, but the player salaries are just a cost. Unrelated note: Finished the latest Baker Fairburn Hockey Show podcast... Fairburn's never seen Star Wars. When he finally watches Revenge of the Sith and realizes that Adams has been Palpatine all along it's going to blow his mind.
  14. A member of the family is broken. 😃
  15. Baww gawd that man has a family!
  16. Perhaps his presentation merely consisted of a summation of the argument above: “you know what, in actually I don’t think it was even possible to have configured one playoff team in 14 years. We tried. We proved a negative. Let’s save more money.” What could we even have done?
  17. Penn State got McKenna. Surely Terry was involved. It sounds like they have incredible facilities. Is he just neglecting the Sabres in favor of them?
  18. Zac Jones: 115games, 28pts, -10, 76 blk/82, 48 hits/82, -1.1relcf%, -13.6xgf and he's gonna turn 25. The MOFO has played only 115 games and he's -13.6xgf but they have him as the 8th defender or maybe 7th over Bryson. If he plays a game in Buffalo it will be 10 games too many.
  19. Lucha Libre is a sport:
  20. Probably Wilford or someone liked Zac Jones and Adams was like "cool! lets get him!"
  21. Fair point, But Crosby to me doesn't excite, yet he is sneaky great. There are players that in space of 10 seconds make you remember a 60 minute game. That was a Bert as others call him. There is a picture of my little sister youngest of 5, only girl, sitting on Rocket Richard's lap. As my older brother told me, Dad always when he went Toronto, say Rocket was the best ever, from his time line. Props to Crosby, but he to me never stood out, and maybe that is his gift. McDavid is a game changer.
  22. Don’t worry, Adams doesn’t understand it either.
  23. Big hockey news in my corner of the world. We got him. We got Matt Irwin: https://www.vicnews.com/sports/hometown-hire-victorias-matt-irwin-signs-on-with-grizzlies-staff-8115790
  24. Dahlin & Kesselring can’t be the torch holders for the D’s toughness. Did everyone forget the revelation Gilbert was last season? A physical defenseman that cleared the crease, played to body and dropped the gloves. Instead we resigned Jacob Bryson and signed Zac Jones. I just don’t understand what Adams is doing. Your were a bottom of the roster plug. He should understand as much as anyone what value having toughness brings to a hockey team. Instead we get 5’9” players that aren’t good a hockey not to mention all the 6’5”+ players the Sabres have that don’t touch anyone.
  25. Complete with a Lindy Ruff mention about liking Geertsen’s toughness. So whoever said he had no NHL games was wrong. Not that 25 games is anything to sneeze at but at least he’s been in the show. Now they still need to find actual hockey players that understand the code. They got a little closer with Kesselring and Doan but they still need more than Tuch in the top 6 that can handle themselves when push comes to shove.
  26. That's the neat part, they're not.
