  1. Past hour
  2. And with due respect, I still don't think he's any great shakes. He benefited from being in a fairly thin WR room (and the team not having a good option for "the X") and from having an All-Pro QB. If the guy weren't such a character (the walk-in outfits, the life hack videos on Instagram), his offseason departure would have been far less newsworthy than it was.
  3. And the timing of that meeting fits in perfectly with what has been talked about here.
  4. Except Byram isn't a good defender. He's mediocre so why keep him long term?
  5. I'm pretty sure he's available, at least according to Wiki: "His involvement with the Nunavik hockey program ended in 2017." Do you really thing he's interested in the step down from Nunavik youth to the Sabres? Why not? They're already on the payroll.
  6. Yikes! 6'6" 19 years old With agility, reach, and details, Kleber’s a formidable defender. He angles opponents to the outside and times his pokes just as they expose the puck. He has the range to switch between high, low, and off-puck coverage with ease. He’s physical, yet rarely chases or ends up in the box. -EliteProspects 2024 NHL Draft Guide
  7. Except Bill Belichick had excellent player personnel people like Scott Pioli during their Super Bowl run. Bill on his wasn't that good.
  8. Today
  9. I fear that'll quickly become the, "Wait, wait. Stop doing something.... Just stand against the wall."
  10. No one thought Hollins was anything before last season. This year we have Josh Palmer and a healthy Curtis Samuel. And it's likely we will add one more free agent. Don't panic. Beane knows what he's doing.
  11. Do I need to start a Pegula do something already thread?
  12. These cryptic blurbs from social media are irrational to me. So far we have Adams and TP met already, and that Lindy is in charge of the roster. Knowing TP I will guess that no one currently on contract is leaving, but there will be title and responsibility changes.
  13. So your saying the Sabres are a dumpster fire floating on a river of crap.
  14. Before they announce any fruitless gestures and re-orgs, I should note that my first retool would be: In a press conference, Pegula announces that the EEE era of the Buffalo Sabres is over and the mission is back to multiple Cups. The Pegula Boat is built; their quality of life is maintained. The Bills stadium is underway, a percentage of the Bills has been sold to raise cash for said stadium, and the new government doesn't give a ##### about the environment so he has the ability to drill as many wells wherever he wants again (slant-drilling-under-the-local-elementary-school-style). Then, he steeples his fingers and says, "Excellent." So now they can pay coaches, scouts, and even spend to the cap. But this must be a public announcement. And then Pegula can turn to GMKA and make him POHO/Wormtongue/General or whatever title they want. I would prefer they slap a Velcro A on his suit jacket. He's earned it.
  15. I'm just an imprisoned Quake II marine, crying out "It hurts!", "Make it stop!", and occasionally falling to my knees and hitting the floor with my fists and doing some sort of garbled laugh, waiting for a passing me to frag me.
  16. As a guess based on the way Terry operates lately, Ruff as GM/Coach, Adams President, not a penny spent on the changes. Maybe Lindy gets to pick a couple assistant coaches.
  17. It’s just my opinion, but a journalist should give some information that clarifies if he is just speculating. If Ruff is now in charge of the roster and Lysowski has inside information, he should at least add that he has a source who has confirmed this. There is too much reading between the lines. I mean, I thought Ruff was the man behind the 4th line changes last year…until that didn’t work so well, and then it was all on Adams.
  18. Let's stop trying to cast JBot as some kind of hero or martyr. The organization and scouting department he built was a failure. He made a terrible coaching decisions. He deserved to be fired, even with Adams whispering in Pegula's ear that he could do a better job.
  19. How many decent defensive prospects does that make? Osburn, Strabek, and the two Russian guys in Rochester, plus R Johnson?
  20. Anybody want to translate what Lance is trying to say there? He expects Adams to stay in his current job as a figurehead? He expects Adams bumped up to PoHO? He expects Karmanos and Ventura to leave? Other?
  21. Hopefully Rochester keeps winning. We've got a lot of trade pieces there we can spin into vets. A deep run will only up their value. This is provided KA will actually take on the $$$ associated with veteran contracts.
  22. In the end something you said rings true... its not just the Sabres I would give up on but the entire sport itself... I am sitting here north of Tampa with a lightning team to root for and I dont even watch the games... I have pretty much moved out of hockey with only packed boxes left in the attic... and my first game was the Schoenfeld Cashman zamboni doors game... I fear if they run this back I just dont have the care in me to care... Pegula has literally killed the love of my favorite sport
