If anybody is wondering why Kevyn Adams still has a job consider this example: In the 2021 draft the Sabres selected Aleksandr Kisakov with the 53rd pick in the 2nd round. At 5'10" and 150 lbs it was an "impressive" selection. Well today Kisakov was cut loose by the Sabres who declined to qualify this RFA. On Sunday the Toronto Maple Leafs re-signed Matthew Knies to a six year contract with an AAV of $7.75 million per year. What makes this relevant is that Knies is 6'4" and about 230 lbs and he was drafted after Kisakov with the 57th pick of the 2021 draft. Kneis scored 29 goals this year for the Leafs. Now when Kevyn Adams says they want to be tougher to play against it makes me wonder why he passed on Knies and selected a 150 lb. nobody. If you add up all these Adams/Forton mistakes over the years, it is easy to see why they haven't made the playoffs for 14 years. Pegula loves him though!

It's the genius of Kevyn Adams. Use a 2nd rd pick for 15 games. JBD (age 25 today) - 144 NHL games 6g 18a -1, 241 blocks, 122 hits, 6'1 198 Timmins (age 27 in Sept) - 159 NHL games, 6g 40 +21, 167 blocks, 137 hits, 6'3 218 Isn't this a coin flip? I'd take the younger guys who actually looked decent in his audition playing next to Power last season. However we must defer to Mega-mind Adams. It's not like he's ever made a bad personnel decision.

I had more expectations on JBD than Timmins. Timmins isn't better than JBD.

Preparing myself to be underwhelmed... I don't see much in the way of forwards that we have a shot at, I don't think Ehlers, Granlund or Boeser would come here and if we're keeping Byram then Gavrikov is off the table imo. My guess is they sign G Daniel Vladar, LD Ryan Lindgren (hopefully to replace Samuelsson on the bottom line with I'm guessing Timmons). I would think the Peterka replacement would have to come in the form of a trade because I just don't see any top names that would want to sign here imo.

I really hope so. Then the Sabres would have Luke Kunin and Luukkonen.
